Quick question. I just got my chrome lined CZ from marstar today. 3 position safety. Forward does nothing (used to be FA I guess) Down does nothing (same thing just disconnected trigger), and point back towards me is fire. When I have it switched to fire and #### back the slide, the slide gets stuck and locks itself until I switch the safety to down. This normal? I never owned one of these before.

It does it whether or not there is a mag present.
 
is there any particular model that would fit cz858 best?
I am fairly new to all of this matching accessories and guns.
This site i sgreat, I found a great one that has been hugely helpful with my love for archery and got engaged in archery community; but this sitetakes the cake for intensity!

You #### it on 'fire', then go to safety.

There is no standard choice for 58s. Getting the Marstar rear sight replacement rail and the Futong Weaver based red dot would be affordable. If you get vz58.net's rail, then you can get any long eye relief scope and rings out there to scope it if you get bored with the red dot.

Curious, with open sights how far can you keep a 6 inch grouping?
with a red dot?
with a scope?
how does a laser sight work on cz, any experiences?
 
Looks like I gotta #### it on safe. Hope this doesnt affect it when it autoloads b/c it will be in fire

n/m. problem is I waas letting it forward w/ my hand. Slams foarward just fine on fire on its own

6" at 100 yards is terrible. These guns are supposed to be about 3moa at 100 yards. :p

I was shooting about 2moa at 70 meters last week...but I'm not used to having the receiver so close to my face when shooting...I need to relearn good shooting when shooting the 858.

You have to realize there are limitations to the original sight system. A peep sight works better. But the 58s are better than any AK I've shot somehow, and I get 3-4 inches at 100 with most AKs open sights. There is talk that the 58 can hit out to 400 m etc., but that is academic since targets start looking pretty small at that range. If you use a long eye relief scope, say 2.5 x, then don't expect much. Most red dot sights have no magnification at all. The side mount scope system, requiring gunsmithing, should be able to provide great long range groupings out to 400 if you have a decent variable scope.

Most lasers will be a waste of money unless you are in the dark, and gun ranges don't have night hours anyhow.

As for the sticky, I guess I didn't work hard enough on the FAQs or provide enough info, or there just isn't enough interest in the 58. LOL
