VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

You are right ;) ..... I got the short one from a Czech forum the guy after posted that he photoshoped it just to see how it would look if he would have it shortened. He did a pretty good job with photoshop I must say :)

So now back to muzzlebreaks.......they are to re-direct gases emitted from a shot which help with recoil right?

if i is wrong please correct me........do they affect accuracy negatively.....

ps i let an older fella shoot my 858 at the range on weekend and now he is buying one fer sure he said.....

how do they shoot in severe cold weather? is this frowned upon?

I have similar handguards as those in the shorty pics, does anybody know which rail I can install on my upper handguard that allows you to still use the sights?

hahaha......I guess eh....how bout guns in general being shot in -30 c. i shot a 12 gauge in winter and busted barrel once.....

what kind of shotgun was it? ive dropped my 870 in the river (duck hunting  )when it was about -30, maybe a few degrees warmer, and i was still blasting away without any problems...other then my chamber freezing shut after that first shot.

Finished a couple mods to the cz. The site is a "q-point". Its good in theory (size, function, basic design), but doesn't hold 0. I can tap it with my finger, and its off. Problem seems to be a poorly designed pivot for windage. Can anybody suggest a sight similar to this, but not overly expensive? I have a bushnell XLP, but find it a bit bulky looking.

I heard a guy at the range stating that infratek canada was making a scope mount for cz that will be awsome.........i hope so...it seems there is no stable option yet, is this correct?
