Just in case people are curious, Urban Ops will be adapting his technology to allow the fixed 58 to fold to the left. So you get folding and no more of that puny folder.
Great. I presume you mean that it will align the same as the the fixed stock. Then, yes. Some might want it more inline for optics, I don't know. Can you provide some Photoshopped pictures for us so it is clearer?

On a completely different subject, I contacted Czechpoint USA about buying one of their bolt carriers that has the welded tab ....
...They said that they won't sell outside of the US. Too bad as that takes care of the VZ gremlin 100%.
Obiwanbonjovi was thinking of making them but apparently he was told that the welded tab is a patented repair mod and he has given up the idea.
How can someone patent a welded piece of metal that is attached onto an already patented device?
And if they aren't willing to sell them to us, can't we make our own overhere?
Who has a MIG or TIG welder and wants to get on this?

That's what I'm thinking too. Wolverine should be making a bunch of those and send them out on an exchange basis; a new, welded one in exchange for the old one without the tab.
I personally would even be willing to pay for shipping and a $15-$20 fee for the welding, even though I shouldn't have to.
But anyways, this isn't a hard mod to do if you can weld. I did everything up to the welding part.
I took a piece of paper and after a few attempts I had the tab shape. Than, I traced that onto a piece of weldable steel from Canadian Tire that is about the perfect height and width. I locked that rough tab into a table vice and following the trace, I filed it into the shape of the tab.
If I could weld, I'd have my modded bolt carrier.

A semi-automatic sporting rifle is created by the modification of a fully automatic assault rifle Sa vz. 58. The semi-automatic rifle is constructed partly from original parts of the Sa vz. 58 assault rifle, i.e. bolt carrier, locking piece, striker, return mechanism, barrel, trigger, interrupter and left hand side striker catch, partly from modified parts of Sa vz. 58 assault rifle, i.e. bolt, trigger mechanism feather and safety catch and partly from newly manufactured parts, i.e. semi-automatic receiver with a narrowed magazine well for a single stack removable magazine with extended bridge, safety catch with one more groove on its lower left hand side, new sporting stock where grip part and butt-stock part form one unit and barrel extension permanently attached to the muzzle. I don't think it would hold. I might give it a try, but I'm not holding my breath. Remember, that tab travels over the disconnector lug twice every round, under upwards pressure...
Well, I am not a lawyer but it sounds to me like the patent is for the complete assemble that they call Sa. VZ85 and not any particular modifications to any of the parts.
