VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

    Votes: 1,507 70.4%
  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

They might need an enema, who knows? :D

Who's the mod who unstickied the thread and saddled us with that POS biased poll?

Well, there are 3 mods in "black and green rifles", let's ask them, politely but insistent. Start with MikeK.

If we don't receive answers, we ask the admins.

Also, Palinak pays Contrib Dealer dues, so to have it biased is also bad for his business.

What's the point? I've dropped enough hints. My guess whoever owns a $3000 SIG is rubbing it in at our expense. :D Just joking. Seems who else would yank our chain?

HEY!That's not nice...I own one of those SIG rifles. I'll go shooting with ya...It won't bother me a bit, that your shooting your cheap Vz.................I...ah, hope you don't mind if I bring my Cz as I actually enjoy shooting that more than my SIG (I'm always afraid of trashing the blasted SIG)

I am a proud gun snob...BUT those CZ/VZ are sweet rigs. And any of 'those type' of guns we can own and shoot get my snobby vote any day of any week... I figure I'll get me a CZ after my house move this month...That and a Glock and a ....Lol

does it make me a bubba if i figured out how to temperaly fix the cz858 problem with a wire connector and a drop of silver solder so i can go shootin this weekend? lol (yes a wire connector fixed it.)

I'd say it rather gives you a deserved place in the Hall of Fame of the fine art of gunsmithing and a Grand Master nomination of the "58" Guild:)
But what kind of problem was the one you fixed?

the one with the trigger. were it wouldnt reset so it wouldnt grab the hammer and the one were it wont funtion in semi auto if you didnt let off the trigger right after firing. all thats needed is a spacer and a drop of solder lol.

i also found a pic of a vz 58 full auto from inside the reciver view on the net somwere while searching on how to quick fix my problem. i wish i could find it again and add it to this thread!

Good job.
I have a very rough picture of what you are talking about. I heard of that, but I do not have a first hand experience with that problem. When I'll have more time I'll like to hear details and see pics.
I don't want to pose as a safety nazi, but make sure what you are doing is absolutely safe, especialy if you plan to give advice and details to others (in these times we can't afford any kind of mistakes).
Cheers
