VZ Grips for SAM 1911, Help me choose!!

Got Raasco also.

Mid $40 for G10 panels is more reasonable.

Lots of grip makers out now to give VZ a second thought.

To the OP, #2 for my liking.

Having owned or shot all three, my thoughts are:

1. Agree with Clobb. Without a doubt the best gripping of the three. My personal favorites. I had Gunners even back when Simonich was making them. They are a bit aggressive in texture and as such are not well loved by those with delicate hands. That said, you can knock off the sharp edges with sandpaper and thy are good to go. Albeit a bit less grippy.

2. The aliens are a bigger (fatter) grip , IMO, better suited to those with large hands. Decent texture, grippy enough for most but definitely a bit on the far side for my average size hands.

3. Pretty but otherwise meh. At least to my tastes. They ar decently grippy but nowhere near as much so as the Gunner Grips. If you like the looks they will be fine for most uses.

Now all of that said, you really can't go wrong with any VZ grips. They are all, high quality and you really will be impressed with which ever ones you end up getting. My closing thought is to recommend going with the thumb scoop. It really does make a difference. At least it does for me.

Good luck! And let us know which ones you decide on.

Excellent info, thanks for your input im sure it will help me make my decision.

I've got small hands and I've found the Aliens to feel just right to me—maybe it's because I've shot double-stacked semi-autos so much—but they did not seem too big to me.

I too have a new Sam and I've decided to go with Eagle Grips.... The Ebony Smooth 1911 grips going now for 40 bucks and the black Ebony Checkered grips for 50 bucks...A hundred bucks or so for black on black...I like the smooth ebony...That's my next buy...

I'd like for somebody to do a side by side comparison (I'm sure myself and others could research this). Yes, there is a big cost difference, but most on the internet feel VZ's are justified.

I have two sets of grips that are small diamonds. Hogue and VZ.

There is ABSOLUTELY no comparing the two. The Hogue aren't even worth keeping as spares. I like a very aggressive grip and that's what CZ's offer. I'm hesitant to think after seeing these Hogue's that others offer the same.

100% satisfied with my two sets of VZs until I find something as good for the lower price.

how do you like the SAM?

I haven't been able to fire it yet. Still waiting on my ATT for my club. It feels great and seems solidly built. I like the photoshopping you did with the VZ grips. That hyena brown looks good... I'm leaning toward the Operator II's.

How do you like yours?

Dont have it yet, its in the mail, but from what i hear the fit and finish is way better than norinco for just a little bit of extra cash.
