Hi, just picked up this Czechpoint VZ 58(I live in Washington, U.S.), and I've been seriously looking into modifying it!
I've read as much as I could find, regarding VZ rifles, and to be honest, they're not too common in the States. I came here to find more info on them, and I have a few questions about setting up a railed fore end, and optic mounting.
First off, here's the rifle. Beautiful, if you ask me! I love how it shoots, and it literally wins hands down, against any AK I have ever handled or fired!

Now, for my questions...
I want to remove all the wood furniture for safe keeping, and still be able to turn the rifle into a fighting tool. I want to maintain the slim, classic look of the Czech rifle as much as I can, while still giving it the advantage of an optic, and ergonomic furniture.
-I'd like to run either an AR style collapsable stock, or an Ace stock. I lean toward an inline buffer tube adapter, so I can put a Magpul CTR stock on it, and have commonality and familiarity with my AR rifle.
-I'd like to install a railed fore end, and am leaning toward a Troy Insustries fore end, with an Aimpoint Micro, as this combination will have a lower 1/3 cowitness with the iron sights.
My concern with this combo, is that an inline AR adapter will have too high of a cheek weld for the Aimpoint Micro?? I've seen a few VZs setup with one of these optics, but are they not too low on the receiver to run an inline AR stock?
Secondly, I was also considering a BC Tactical rail. I like the construction of it, though it doesn't keep low enough to be able to utilize the stock iron sights in conjunction with an optic. Any thoughts on a comparison between the two?
I really would like to keep this rifle as light and handy as I can. I plan on getting an NEA tactical bolt release, and extended mag release, but otherwise retaining the stock look and feel of the gun as much as I can.
Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
