Were any of these imported to Canada? Have you fired and/or owned one? What was good/bad about it? Have you seen any for sale? At what price?
I sold one a few months ago on CGN or I cant remember for 650 or 700. Maybe I let it go to cheap? It was a very nice condition CAI US import that was then imported into Canada. Had the holster, cleaning rod and three magazines. I love that round, the lock up mechanism is cool. The sights are bad. The heel release is far from ideal. I like it a lot better than a TT but they are supposedly a lot stronger gun. Supposedly you are not supposed to fire a lot of the 7.62x25 hot subgun ammo... too hard on these guns. Just regular S and B commercial non corrosive launches pretty impressive fireballs from that gun.
I bought one from Century Arms about 25 years ago. It had been converted to 9mm and was a total "jam-o-matic" I don't think I was able to ever fire off a whole magazine without a stoppage. Also firing pins are very weak and will break from dry firing.

I had one for awhile. They have a cast firing pin and the lack of a slide release. They can be a fire feather with Czech surplus ammo. I had a noticeable hang fire which was a little unnerving. The makarov dot com website in the states sold parts for them. The grips were junk and I would consider the experience of shooting it as intense and a bit of a roll of the dice in terms of it breaking.
I paid about $300 for it along with a nearly full crate of ammo. I would not pay anywhere near $900 unless it had significant upgrades.

Don't know how many came into Canada, but I bought one off a friend in 2004 for $300.00. Mint condition and shoots very well. Also got some ammo off my friend that is surplus and Head Stamped 1953 in 8 round Stripper Clips. And it's hot as hell. It's super strong, using a roller lock mechanism similar to a MG42 Machine Gun and it's very easy to disassemble.
