VZ58 in 7.62x51 is possible if there is enough interest.

Haha no matter what rifle you introduce, a bunch of guys say they'd be totally down if it were in some stupid obscure caliber that the world forgot about

1200 would get me in

I may be dreaming but...Would a 7.62x54r version taking svd dragunov style mag doable?? Skeleton stock and all... It would also need side mount hole to be raised a bit so a PSO-1 style type of scope would clear the dust cover

If this rifle is produced how many years would it take to reach the Canadian market?

I think the idea is that CSA would re-tool and make a run of these .308 VZ58's specifically for North Sylva Co. and the Canadian market. The purpose of this thread is to gauge interest as the order would have to be fairly large to justify the cost of re-tooling for this rifle.

If this is actually doable I would buy a rifle for sure.

I think there's going to be a little more then just retooling involved though. I'm thinking a heavier profile barrel and possibly a beefier receiver would be required. I can't see a 6.5 pound semi auto .308 being too fun to shoot.

Id buy one just wish it used reall wood grips then the beaver wood ones...

if it took m14 magaiznes that would be good enought for me since i have a few AIA magazines that work in the M14 they might work in that as well...
