VZ58 in 7.62x51 is possible if there is enough interest.

It would make sense to me to chamber it into 5.56 NATO instead of 7.62 x 51. The latter would seem a little overdone. First, the rounds are more expensive. Then, if you want the range (distance), there are more appropriate rifles to handle that.

I've also heard that the action isn't that reliable in its native 7.62 x 39, so how would it handle a much more powerful round? Would the action be more prone to stoppage or breakdown with the harder recoil?

Already one done in .223....

Where do you find it? never seen it before.

Tons of dealers carried them! I know P&D and Wolverine had them for sure.

They even have an adapter to use AR pattern mags.

That said, if the VZ58 in 7.62x51 happens I'm for sure in for one. 7.62NATO is a great cartridge and it would be nice to get a non-Chinese semi-auto for under $2000.

Yep I'm pretty sure SFRC has them too. North Sylva should show CZ this thread and be like bam, big market!

Id take one in 12ga and 7.62 provided they could use the same accessories as the current ones do (Although the 12ga wouldnt accept the current fabdefense handguards because of an enlarged barrel) and the 762 x 51 uses m14 mags or something else thats cheap and readily available. Also if they didnt have the crap fake wood it would be a nice option.

Me thinks its going to be a very long time before we see a 7.62x51 VZ...

True, CSA and North Sylva Co. have numerous hurdles to overcome but prototypes have already been manufactured (AP-67). It's just a matter of whether or not the dynamic duo can make it a financially beneficial venture, and if so, how long it will take to jump through all the government hoops. I'd be pleased as punch if a tentative delivery date were published within the next 2-3 years but I admit that may be a little optimistic. As long as Masterpiece Arms doesn't announce plans for a 7.62x51 version of their MPAR at next year's SHOT Show (if that's even possible) then I think this rifle could be a real seller on the Canadian and American markets.

I would not want to get one of the first batch for a small market - too many possiblities of persistent bugs to work out like the Kp31 clones from TRS.

Kind of a gamble, but I think the latest test polls (BAR, #37 machine guns, etc) are a bit out to lunch in this tube sock economy.
