Ok so I have purchased new iron sights from zahal for my vz58, but I haven't the slightest clue of how to remove the rear sight without destroying it completely.

anyone know how to remove it? I tried to search all over google, no luck. if anyone could point me in the right direction,I would very much appreciate it.

thanks !! not sure, it's an 11.5 inch restricted... technically a black rifle... i think.

I also bought a nice Receiver cover with integrated rail for my vz.... unfortunately it doesn't fit properly and I can't pul the bolt back all the way, it gets stuck! wtf now? I guess these were not sized very well.

Yo may have to actually seat it in hard or take just a bit of paint off the rails that seat inside the reciever. If that doesnt work and you dont want it Ill buy it of ya cuz a buddy i know wants to start fabbing these up himself!!!

nah I'll keep it. tried to find a vid on youtube for ak sight removal and most of these ak's have leaf spring sight, way easier to take off. I may just take it to the gunsmith, I'm going to break the damn thing, I know it.

Do you have a manual or anything to help you out???
Ill try and find mine and see what I can do to help.

Which sights did you get anyways to replace the stock ones???

I want to replace them with the green dot sights, they're the same as the stock sights but with the green dots and fibre front sight. I got a bunch of goodies from zahal. new receiver cover with integrated rail (sweet) - but it needs some fitting. aluminum hand guard, ambi/extended mag release lever, slide lock, I can't wait to have it all assembled.

just about! i have some pretty bad dummy marks, scratched it up like an idiot trying to put everything on, I"ll have to get it cerakoted now. that's the 11.5inch, now I have to order some parts for teh 7.5". I'm just loving the vz's now, I had a non-restricted model a long time ago, but never got into it. it's something about the long barrel length that takes all the ###iness out of the rifle.

I know what youmean, all the restricteds are just fantastic to run. although the 19" bbl is "bush whacking" fun!!!!!

As for the screws I did thae same thing and had to get my impact wrench out to bang those F'ing screw loose.

Yeah the dustcover rail is sweet. Have that on my restricted and it holds zero perfectly.
Sounds like you are ready to rock with that rifle.

just curious, did you have any issues with the bolt carrier going back into the receiver ?? mine was really stiff, it was rubbing kind of hard metal to metal, after racking the carrier a bunch of times it seems like it's getting better, it was holding back before, that's how stiff it was.

ya, i'll have to dremel a slit on the screws and hope it comes off. they're probably covered in locktight I imagine, have to heat that puppy up.

Only issuse I had is trying to rack the slide when the 2 mounting screws were not screwed in, then it would bind because the cover wasnt fully seated down. Other then that I have never had any issues with it.

I would get another non-restricted model, but i'm looking for a vz, not the cz (I really like the finish on the vz). know where I can find one of those ?

Ahhhh mr schultz, That's a ton of extra stuff on it. We will have to get shooting that monster soon. I went out with the non restricted yesterday and it was good times. You coming to NSR this week?

for sure. probably not this week. schedule is going to change in a few weeks and I'll get wednesdays off.

Did you try reading the stickies???
Lift up the rear sight. There you will see the leaf spring. Located on the leaf spring is a divet. Place punch or nail in the divet and strike with the direction that your barrel is pointing. The leaf spring will then come loose of the grove that it is located in. Thus allowing you to remove the rear sight easly.
