Wow... at least try and improve on the designs you're copying.

Relax Dave the over the receiver concept mount for the VZ58 has been around for years, the first one I was involved with was made by John Marshall close to 3 years ago of which this is an evolution. Prior to that Palinak has pimped a couple versions etc. Like the concept of QD mounts, picatinny, AR stock adapters etc; it may not be original but it actually works and will be commercially available in 60 days.
This is great news... I just happen to be in desperate need of a new barrel for my rifle.
If I were to replace my 58L barrel with one of these shorts ones, how does a person go about getting the rifle reclassified as a restricted?
And I guess having my rail mount being sandbagged on your desk for a few months probably helped a bit as well..
Yes it easier to change restricted firearms barrel length to a shorter barrel because the FRT needs only to be changed .Changing a Non Restricted Firearms status to to Restricted is somewhat complicated it can be done though .Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You would have much less trouble getting a restricted gun and installing the shorter barrel. Much less of a headache.
You'll need to contact the CFC and have the rifle verified in person I would assume. I'm not 100% on the legalities, but I believe that you'd have to have a gunsmith install the restricted barrel because by merely installing a short barrel on a non-restricted receiver, you are making a restricted device that isn't registered as such.. the vicious circle of having to have it already so before you can make it so.

I propose a death match. Rauch vs NeitArms, winner takes my money.

Further, there is an entire body of law dedicated to "intellectual property", and it would truly behoove those in voled to become familiar with it, so they are properly and legitimately able to protect their designs. Lets face it, there are a lot of lazy people, lacking imagination and intellect, always wanting to ride on the coat tails of those that have more imagination, skill, and the intestinal fortitude to bring a new design into actual being.
