VZ58 vs sks

I havent laughed this hard in a long time. Can't believe we are comparing crappy SKSs to Cz858's now. The only downside of the Cz858 is having stupid Canadian laws that messed with the design.

Iv shoot a real Vz58 while overseas and it's not even in the same league as an SKS. Heck it puts my 858 and Type81 to shame as well.

But since im not bias, I own all of them regardless.

people saying sks is better than a VZ58? wow... i own multiples of both... and VZ ALLLLLLLL the way... everything is better on a VZ... hell its almost a modern rifle with some mods in my view.

Perhaps it is because of the folding stock on my 858 that I find my SKS easier to shoot. And since I got an 81 neither the 858 or SKS get shot much anymore. The 81 also has a folding stock but it is of a design that is way more comfortable to shoot, at least I find it so.

Accuracy? My particular example of an SKS seems to shoot quite well, I might say better than my 81 and 858, but not by much.

The 858 is the more refined of the designs, is lighter and more compact with a centre of gravity closer to the shooter. So which one is the best? Which ever you can afford or appeals to you, nothing wrong with getting an SKS. Better to get all 3 if you can. I do agree the cz's are not really worth it at current prices.

I had a CSA VZ 58 and sold it because I personally like the SKS better.

For me I prefer the rifle style wood stock and the actual bluing on the metal. The only reason I have a 7.62x39 is for the fun factor I would rather spend the money on a quality built hunting rife than a plinker.

In my opinion the SKS is a $500 value rifle for $200, the VZ is a $700 rifle for $1200. There are diminishing returns to get slightly better...

Owned a Csa vz no complaints but it wasn't that much better then my sks kept my sks sold the vz.

Why spend a bunch of time and money to make your SKS into a hybrid VZ58/CZ858? Just buy a Vz58 that comes with all the options you want.

I also sold my VZ58 and CZ858 while keeping the SKS. Why did I do that? Because the SKS is cheap and “worthless”

I own a Vz and an SKS and enjoy both. If you aren’t poor, why not both?
