I had two push feed M-70's, A 30-06, and 300 WM. Used them from the early seventies until a few years ago when I got the bright idea I should have a Kimber 8400. I still own the Kimber but I also have 3 new M-70's in 243, 30-06, and 375. I guess I have the M-70 bug.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the vintage of M-70 your looking at. As the fella mentioned above they are sleepers in the gun world and under appreciated. A very good solid, dependable rifle that can be had for reasonable money if you shop around.
There are two types of gun owners in the world: Those that own M-70's, and those that wish they did! There now that statement should cause lots of irate response's and keep this thread going for at least the next couple weeks. Especially from a cranky young fella up in Whitehorse who is a Rem 700 lover. But he does own a couple M-70's so he starting to drift over from the "dark side"
Anyways buy the M-70 300 WM you will not regret owning the gun or calibre.
