Hopefully you got the proper version with collapsing stock. I bought two, this past month… One I bought, and promptly returned on second guessing, then beat myself up over it for a week. Heading to work I pull into my favourite small shop, and I'll be damned if they didn't have one in stock too. Was an omen, had no choice, bought it and haven't looked back. For the price, you've got a gun with all the features I want but already there, no tweaking, and everything is absolutely perfectly done. You get what you pay for, as in anything.

Here's my first rough review, will do more and better.

It's the same size as my 14" Mossberg 590A1 for transport, a lovely surprise.

That's BBB, he's not a regular dude. S&J Hardware
Also on a side note to BBB I'd love it if you could hook me up with a +2 extension for my 930.

To the OP congrats on your new M4, who knows maybe some day I'll have one as well.
The 930 was just too good of a deal to pass up. I haven't had any problems with it.

yep 930 +2 and were being run today, tomorrow they get the finished reamed then hand tested and inspected and off to finisher on Monday :)
Got a c**p load of back orders for our US customers to fill ,so if you need one let us know, price should be going down 5% or so as well :)

I have a benelli M4. I'm gravatating more to precision shooting. I do mostly all my shooting at the range. I'll be heading up to a cut block to do some longer range stuff in a month or so. In the end my M4 almost never ever get's used. But I will NEVER EVER sell it. It is such a fine shottty. It's a true ferrari of a gun. Even though I might not use it a lot now, that will probably change sooner or later.

Congrats on your purchase. Don't look back. The m4 is just awesome.

I own an 870. I bought it a month ago. I've owned my M4 for over a year. The 870 is good, but it's like comparing a 1978 pickup truck to a Ferrari. The M4 is an amazing weapon. The performance and operation is flawless.

Unless you need the portability and are ATC'ing the 14", hands down go 18.5". You gain the benefits of allowing a magazine extension as well for an 8 shell total capacity semi, and fully legal. Also non-restricted, so you can use it without paper giving you permission. 4", even though I'm shopping 14" M4s, isn't very much of a difference either in the real world. For most Canadians, there's only one good choice of M4, the non-restricted in my opinion.

All true, and it would be infinitely more fun being able to cut loose somewhere other than just the range. BTW, did you see the used 14" on Wolverine's website? Not much info on it but the price isn't bad.

I have been an avid fan of the Remington 870 and have one I'll never part with. Recently though I've been wanting a semiautomatic shotgun and after considering my budget decided on the Mossberg 930. Reviews were mixed but leaned more towards positive than negative so I decided it would be a good introduction semi-auto. I held it in my hands and I just couldn't do it. It didn't feel right. It didn't feel like the quality was there. Not compared to my Remington or even the older Mossberg pumps I've handled. So I made the nice man show me every semiautomatic shotgun in the store. The second I held the Benelli M4 it was all over.

I handled some pretty goddamn nice shotguns that day but nothing came close to feeling as good as the M4. It was $2300 and change out the door but I feel like I purchased something they'll bury me with. I just didn't get that with the 930. Even my beloved 870 feels like a tin can in my hands now. The M4 isnt perfect and needs a thing or two changed but its damn close. Shoots like a dream.

This thread has no point.

I'm just in love and wanted to talk about it :)
But you came to your senses in time and spent your money on something not made by Mossberg?

How do you get the semi M4 past a 5rnd magazine legally? Mag extension are ok on pumps, because manually operated have no mag limit. Semi-auto have 5, unless you have a pistol magazine that allows 10. How do you get 8 in an M4?

6 in the tube (6 2.75" that is, the tube will hold 5.9 3"), one in the chamber, one on the lifter (ghost loaded) = 8 rounds of semi auto goodness (or badness, depending which end of the gun you're on :D)
