As with the scopes that come on package guns, I think if they don't put a model name on the ones that Wal-Mart gets it's because it would allow consumers to make direct price comparisons with their standard models at other retailers and upset the market. Wal-Mart will buy such a large volume that Bushnell will be willing to have batches built just for them that may vary in specs from the normal models. Apart from the magnification and lens size spec, you probably aren't going to be able to compare important information like lens coatings.
I think t-star is right about inferring quality from which country they had it made in. Taiwan, Korea, Phillipines probably indicate higher specs than China, and Japan would be better than them all. The Chinese could make a scope as good as the Japanese if you wanted them to, and you were willing to pay for it, but that's not what people usually ask of China. They go to China to have it built for lowest cost.
