Walther just released a new optic ready polymer frame pistol PDP

Just wait until you try the slide. Walther clearly spoke to end "duty" users with the PDP, it is the most perfect duty handgun I have ever fired. Spectacular accuracy, trigger and ergonomics. The paper doesn't lie. Walther is the most accurate polymer duty handgun ever produced. The super deep cuts to the slide are perfect. The super deep optic cut in the slide offers emergency factory sight pictures for nearly all optics....except the DPP. This gun is almost perfection in every way.

Your post proves the rule. We all use our guns for different purposes. For LEO's this gun is the cats meow for the steel worshipers not so much. For IDPA it has a lot going for it.

Rich not sure if you can answer but I will ask anyways how does the trigger compare with the PPQ series. I love the PPQ trigger. Friggin amazing.

Trigger is slightly better than the PPQ, I know that seems hard to do but yes a bit better characteristics.
I only put 300 rounds or so through it but everything is an improvement on the gun. Only thing is if you were concealed carrying (which we are not here)
the slide is more bulky than the PPQ. But the slide cuts and design is perfect for a duty gun.

Hahahahaha. Walther still trying to design a gun worth a pinch of sh*t. Let's look at their failure list

P99
PPQ
Creed
CCP
Q4
Q5
PDP
PPS

That doesn't include the endless variants of each. The P99 was a "Glock killer" some years ago. Then it was the PPQ, then the Creed. The Q5 steel frame was all the rage just a year or so ago.
I shot one, and it was absolutely boring, uncomfortable, and heavy(by design). One flop to the next.

Oh! We got a Glock Fanboy with his blinders on. Why do you guys get so mad? Just enjoy your glocks man. Most people who use a Walther next to a glock pick the Walther... that shouldn't upset you though man. To each their own

Outstanding Rich. Thanks for the update. I appreciate it.

Indeed it is just someone's opinion.

Not sure how my 16 year old P99 that I used for courses and matches with almost 4000 rounds through it, and only 2 stoppages, is a failure. The magazines are also easy/fast to fully load by hand, no loader required to force the last few rounds in.

The PDP has windage and elevation adjustable sights, something that I wish other manufactures pistols came with.

This, Walthers are one of the most underrated platforms Imo, I've had 2 glocks, still have a Gen 4 FS, had 2 Walthers, a P99 and Q5 match, still have the p99, only sold the q5 to make money for a SF but those funds seemed to disappear, I've found both Walthers superior to both glocks in just about every way possible. Still love my Glock, but if I could only choose one, it would be Walther 10 times out of 10

You nailed it. I started a thread a few weeks ago on here indicating that I wish someone introduced me to Walther years ago. I just got into Walther last year and now I own 2 plus several guns others including Glocks but Walther's are my go to range pistol.

Who said anything about being upset?? What you waste your money on is your business. I'm having a chuckle at the blind love for a gun nearly no one has seen yet, from a company who builds sub par products. Chasing the flavor of the month is entertaining to watch.

Walther is like a Glock, just with a really good trigger, grip and barrel....and points naturally!
Walther judges their success by Olympic Medals, triggers and accuracy. Try one and you'll find out!
I love Glocks, great durable guns, just point a bit un-natural and Walther is higher quality. I've never seen
anyone at the range who hasn't tried the Walther and not been impressed.

Walther is very frustrating for me....I have numerous Sig Sauer X-5 guns that are way more expensive,
The darn Walthers shoot nearly as accurate for a fraction of the cost!

That is a good price point. If the trigger is as good as the reviewers say, it should do well.

I have bought and sold may guns over that last several years, but would never consider selling my Gen-1 P99. Still think they nailed it with that design, but I appreciate why others like the constant trigger pull on other strikers.

Yeah but how many police officers use them?

P99 and PPQ pistols are used by the police in several German states, the Royal Malaysia Police, the Polish National Police, the Dutch Police, the National Police Agency of Taiwan, the Chilean Air Force and numerous other agencies around the world.

It wasn't a serious question I own four Walthers it's just a dig at the Glock fans that think it's a big deal that so many police forces use Glocks.

I had 4 Gen 1 P99's at one time....foolishly sold them. Still have a P99AS and PPQ M1. They are definitely built tighter than Glocks, have better ergonomics on the grip and a wee bit more accurate in my hands. Both brands are very reliable. I find Walthers are a bit wider and taller on their slides compared to Glocks.

That video almost predates the internet. Where on earth did you find it. It has to be 18 years old if it a day.

Glocks have a habit of failing under heavy use. That is one reason why they are on their 5tkh attempt. I suspect the 4th was the worst because they redesigned the gun for their 5th iteration. At least that is what the Los Vegas gun range reported a couple of years ago. Glock did at least address the issues with their 5th Edition. To the Glock boys Google is your friend...use it.

Take Care
