Wanstalls Contest: Name A Tactical Shotgun, Win $150!

as my 2 year old would say

"NO, MY SHOTGUN"

or

"Daddys Gun..My Daddys Gun"

on a serious note good luck to everyone who is going to enter and the shotgun looks sick

The month is halfway over, so that means this contest is halfway over -- check us out on our Facebook to get your suggestions in. We've had some great ones so far and the debate over here amongst the judges is pretty intense... give them something more to fight about! :D

Cheers,
Daniel

Since joining CGN I have come up with the name for three products (as well as two bands and a restaurant :) )....my background is in a related field :). For this shotgun I have the perfect name.... But: I refuse to do it on Facebook. You'd think that since they are getting a name for thousands cheaper than they would pay a PMC for the same, they'd crowd source everywhere (and 150 bucks in GC's isn't so much a "prize" as it is a fantastic deal for a name.)

Would ya listen to this guy!

I wish there was something that is the exact opposite of the wiserhood clap so i could post it here.

But where is the custom? It's just a bunch of bolted on parts and some "hand honing"! I would call it the Try Harder
.

If you want to participate in the contest and can live with the way it's set up and the prize as offered go for it.

If not, why not just ignore it and move on?

I'm really confused by the people hacking on the contest and Wanstalls over it. What you say might be 100% true but why not just let it be? It's a free contest, all 'free' contests must benefit the ones holding the contest in a way THEY feel is 'worth it' or they wouldn't do it.

As it costs nothing to participate and doing so is optional then those that feel it's 'worth it' will enter, those that don't won't....or I guess they will come on CGN and hack on it if they think THAT is 'worth it'

Simple: A CGN sponsor is promoting a contest that is A: not open to CGN'ers and B: promoting another website/encouraging people to join it....

Want to have a Facebook contest open to only Facebook members? Promote it on Facebook. If it's not a CGN member contest, why do I gotta see a Facebook promo thread every time I click the "new posts" button...here at CGN....where CGN members can't enter.

I think you miss the point, facebook is free for everyone, so it is open to CGN'ers
it is a marketing tool with exponential growth... cgn is not... so for a business, that wants to make money... facebook is a better tool.
you would think that gun owners in Canada would want more non-owners to be exposed to firearm culture in a good way through social media.

Facebook gives us an opportunity as a business to reach out to potential shooters, new shooters, and those who do not have time for dedicated forums as well as interact directly with our friends here at CGN and those who visit the store in person but do not use the internet much -- a lot of people have Facebook on their phones, but don't spend much time in front of their computer screen. It's just a great place for us to share our love of guns, alert shooters to new products, and have contests to reward community participation the same way Progressive Sales and daily posts allow us to interact with dedicated gun folk here at CGN! Two sides of the same coin, and we like to reach as many shooters and future shooters as we can to grow the sport and the industry together with everyone who posts positive, responsible firearms topics here and there alike.

We have just ONE WEEK LEFT in this contest, so if you've come up with any new ideas or have any friends who want to join in on the fun, direct them to OUR FACEBOOK!
