Wanstalls Exclusive Chiappa Alaskan Scout 12" -- Limited Run

What kind of accuracy should I expect out of this sweet rifle?

IMR4227 19.2gr
300gr hornady XTP
Winchester Primers / Star line brass - 1.600" oal

1220+fps (@10ft.) and holes touching at the bullseye, effortlessly (25m.)

But still, $1200 plus is too much for a lever gun...

Hmm…

If it was under the $1000 mark and in 45LC I would have a hard time saying no. It's beautiful firearm

The case your talking about is actually a scabbard. It is the Voodoo Tactical 20-8916 Breacher's Shotgun Scabbard.

Hope this helps.

I wouldnt recommend one for the bush for people that spend a lot of time there, but if you are just a casual busher than it should be fine. Mine has begun to disintegrate, and catches all kinds of tree needles, leaf litter, and dirt in it from hiking around for a summer (every day). It made the gun and barrel dirty as all hell.

I recommend the holster and then just strap it onto your backpack (or leg if you want).

Now this is exactly where I would put my money. It is a keeper in every way, even if the wood gets scratched up a bit I prefer it over the black synthetic coating. For both guns octagonal barrels rock! I don't have one yet but will be looking for some pairing for my magnum caliber handgun loads once I start reloading. Thank-you for sharing this blessed piece of craftsmanship with us! Now if we could only get around town by horseback with the rifle in a scabbard...

Does anyone know about the "soft touch" material on the stock? will it cut easy and peel off? or is it fairly durable?

Mine should be here Monday!! It will join its brethren, a nice Chiappa Mare's Leg octagonal and Winchester 16" octagonal take down, both in 44 too! I love shooting 44 mag levers!! Fun, fun ... ummmm, fun.
