Wanstalls Exclusive Chiappa Alaskan Scout 12" -- Limited Run

But still, $1200 plus is too much for a lever gun... Takedown BLRs even not that much...

I'll agree to disagree on that. Pricing from what I've seen seems pretty standard for a high end lever gun

Just because you feel it's to much won't magically make it true. Same thing as saying a mustang Shelby kr is to much money because a used Chrysler neon is 1500 bucks. Have to compare apples to apples.

Look at what your getting vs what else is available.
Takedown, short barrel, pistol calibre lever with a full stock. Literally your only other factors choice is a winchester Ltd edition that retailed for close to 1700 with less features then this Chiappa. Not to mention comparible guns in the Chiappa line with less features are approx the same price. Wanstalls chose not to rake people over the coals on pricing on an exclusive limited run Gun that you cannot get anywhere else when they easily could have taken everyone to the cleaners like winchester did.

But hey what do I know. Im Just another opinion in someone elses ocean of expertise

I agree with coupe.... 1200.00 is a great price for what your getting. If you don't care if its a take down, then your paying for options you don't need. Just get a mares leg and a stock if it makes you happy.

For woods protection I'd want a round big enough that you can load it with cold or gloved hands. One of these in .45-70 or something similar still with 12" barrel ( or shorter ) would be right up my alley. :)

I just cannot afford this right now, really want though. Spent last night running the numbers & thinking about & decided that down the road I'd look for a regular Chiappa take down Mare's Leg & just swap the stock from my trapper. Won't be as slick as this beauty but something I can save for.

Look forward to seeing want Wanstalls next limited run is!

Awesome gun. Price high. Would be a deal at $1000.00 but I'm sure they'll sell at $1200. Limited run ... limited customers with $1200 kicking around for a pistol calibre lever carbine ...

Caved on this one. I've been looking for a .44 Mag lever gun and this really fits the bill.

Can anyone recommend a small carry case for this guy? Maybe one like the one pictured?

Thanks Daniel!

Always happy to help! :)

We have fewer than half of these remaining in stock -- we're not expecting these to last much longer, especially with a sunny weekend coming up here in BC!

Cheers,
Daniel

Just got off the phone with them......that case is in stock for $36.

Guess what I'm going to buy right now.

Very interesting lever gun, I like it. As for being a fad, I don't entirely disagree but I'm sure it's a blast (no pun intended) and would be a bit of a conversation piece years down the road and I could see falling in love with it over again. The price is a little high for me, for what it is. That being said, Chiappa's quality seems to be getting better and if it receives stellar reviews I likely wouldn't pass up the opportunity to own one. Anyone who gets their hands on one, please keep us posted!
