I'm sure if IRG asks for 500 "DMR" versions they'll get them and probably at a discount. I don't think M+M would have any problem in screwing NS over as long as they get paid.

They can just pay another distributor a few bucks to make the order, wouldn't be the first time

If you read the actual quotes from Wanstalls and M+M you will see that no price was given to Wanstalls from M+M. They came up with what they believed was a distributor level price and made their 1450 from that. Where they got that from has yet to be seen.. but M+M has been clear from the beginning that no price was set... and two years ago told Can Am to look for 2k to 2400 range in pricing. Had M+M given Wanstalls the price numbers that led to the 1450 price I would agree with you... but thats never been said anywhere.

Obviously, the central topic with m&m after the presale was the pricing and where the misunderstanding took place.

Now, how is it possible after that discussion , that Wanstall thought they could still honour the presale at $1449 when they clearly couldn't a week later.

Are you saying Wanstall goofed twice on their own?

Actually the price increase is for the Canadian DMR version. The m10x-z is still at 1499us

With the us gun sales at an all time low these rethards raised their prices. How stupid can u be to buy this if in the states when u can buy 2 good ak or really good ar15

There is no difference other then 2.5" of barrel. The DMR tag is complete horse####.

Wanstalls won't be getting any of my business in the future, I am out money on this deal, like others I went out and bought mags for this rifle because I was assured they were going to honour the presale price and do right by their customers. Trying to sell AK mags on the EE is going to be tough I don't think there are many guns in Canada that take them. I am out money on this deal and I am pretty pissed off about it.

Except a billion SKS that guys have done conversions on. And the SKS Ds. And the M305 in x39. There's a lot of guns that take them.

If M+M ever gave Wanstalls a price... either before or after the presale... neither company has said so. You'd think Wanstalls would have mentioned that. They didnt. M+M stated theyd allow Wanstalls to fufill the preorder at that price... but never said theyd be selling them to Wanstalls at that price. Basically saying hey ill let you sell my product for that low but its on you.

Until I hear otherwise, thats the only logical conlusion when reading only the statements from the horses mouths, and not all the other b.s.

Ya but all these guys are not gonna pay full pop with shipping that I paid. They will want discounts. The low ballers on the EE are abundant. Heck, I've done it on occasion. AK mags will be a harder sell and take time, effort and frustration. It is not right that we will need to suffer due to WS's "assurances". It is very easy for those not directly affected by this to say, "big deal you get your money back", or "your getting out ahead with a 10% discount". But that is just a bait and switch and regardless if I get my deposit back I'm still out additional money. The only ones responsible for that is WS. Had they said that they were unsure of the outcome of the deal, I would have hesitated on purchasing any accessories. But we were "ASSURED" twice that it was good to go. We trusted WS and we got burned. Sure MM screwed them but they initiated the whole deal, not MM. It was handled horribly. The options given are not even worth pursuing. 10% is a joke. They win either way while screwing the customer. I was a defender of WS at the start of this fiasco but now truly unimpressed. They may think, as do some on this site do, that this will not hurt their business or reputation but trust me this will reach a lot of people. I've heard a lot of conversations about this outside the CGN community and word of mouth is pretty powerful. Will it blow over? Likely but it will hurt their reputation.

So within a 10 day period, you went and bought mags for a gun that wasn't even built yet, with no set timeline for delivery but would be "months" at minimum, and you think it's someone else's fault that you bought mags?

Yes, Wanstalls threw us under the bus, not much money to do with us. Surprisingly Wanstall have only 4 negative feedback. Not much buyer.

Pre-orders are like that. When you put money down on something that is not yet in country then you are taking some chances. That's how it is and everyone who considers put money down on a firearms pre-order should take that into consideration. Buying accessories for a firearm that isn't even in country yet is a gamble as well and sort of premature to say the least.

I do agree the retailer has responsibility, and it looks to me like Wanstalls is doing a decent job of accepting that responsibility and taking appropriate timely action - it does not always go so well with other retailers that have had preorder problems and anyone who has been around here for some time will know what I mean. They can't blow unicorns out their arse to make everyone happy and there will always be someone who needs more personal attention, but I think Wanstalls has done the best that can be reasonably expected from an unfortunate situation.

Replace Gun with some other product that you were promised and put money down on. Just because it's a gun retailers are getting a free pass I don't think so. Not to mention you were reassured that the deal was going to happen. The little guy ultimately loses and the weasel wanstalls comes out of it with 0 losses.

Makes no difference to the context of my post, regardless of how smart mouthed someone gets. I get it - your feelings are hurt. It's very sad. :)

You have no grounds to make stupid insults to anyone and you need to grow up if you want to be taken seriously.

No free pass at all intended and the point is now that you're smarter maybe you'll think harder about it next time. I've been burned and I wasn't so lucky as you guys are to get your money back in anything close to a reasonable time. I don't do pre-orders for exactly that reason - because they regularly turn to crap.

in fact if you wanted to be taken seriously you wouldn't have a childish bs avatar, in case you didn't know already.

lol,

He didnt say it was someone else's fault, he said it was Wanstalls fault.

And there's nothing wrong with buying parts and accessories prior to arrival, heck, Wanstall was pushing scope for the rifle if I recall.

Whole bunch of us bought t81 bayo months in advance before the ship hit the shore , let alone clear custom.
