Love my M&P40. I look forward to putting many more rounds downrange with it. And the melanite finish on it is indestructible! It was knocked off the bench by a bumbling idiot at the range one day and there is not a mark in the slide after hitting the seat, concrete pad under the bench, and falling over the sand covered brass around the bench in the dirt. I literally blew the dust off, slammed a mag in it and fired it. I'm not scared about beating up the finish on it after it took that tumble and has no marks on it.

And yeah, you can't really beat a gun, 3 mags (mine had 4), and a maglula loader for $650.
 
If you like your sig's why not an np-22 .9mm, just love mine, and it may just surprise you....mine is better than I ever imagined I could be.....IMHO..it's my range whore...
 
I'd go with either Girsan, used Beretta (can be had for $600 or even less!) or a used Glock (gen2 should be no problem getting for $500)

It's true eh....... Spent an afternoon at the range with a guy shooting a sig p226, even he was blown away how good it was...not quite as accurate.....but dam close..
 
You can get two brand new Hi-Points in either 40 or 45 for 500 bucks. Not beauty queens, but are accurate and reliable from what I hear.

I don't have a Glock, and I don't particularly like them, but I've heard they can take a friggin beating. Buddy owns one, hasn't cleaned it for over 3,000 rounds, still ticking. I got a Norc for $300. Nice beater gun, but requires cleaning once in a while.
 
What about a .22 kit for the Sigs? Frame gets used but everything else is preserved. They fit the budget, cheap to run and you get to train with the Sig.
 
if you want a new gun, get a TT-33 and a crate of ammo

if you want something with a similar feel, get a Nork that's a Sig knock off depending on what caliber you already have (9mm / 40S&W)

if you want to get into the 1911 realm, pick up a $299 CanAm deal and some ammo

otherwise spend the $600 on ammo and shoot what you have

I'm boggled. They are tools, not collectables. Why have something and not use it, that's beyond my realm of understanding.
