Ya these guys are trouble. Aren't they the guys who advertised their "humping" services? Everything I saw on their site was a major red flag.

Edit........and now out of business. That was fast.

if you take the phone number from skspartscanada.com and google it, you will find other ads Tim is posting, selling fishing boats, motors etc. Guy is stupid enough to use his real name and phone number. (and expose his wife's name) Anyone with a little bit of no how can find enough info on the guy and where he is.

That would be a waste of OP's time. BBB is a scam. If you ''report" non-BBB members, it means nothing. BBB is just a subscription service circle-jerk.

absolutely! a modern day "protection" racket ... question: why should I be a member of the BBB? ... answer: well .... if you are not a member, people that inquire will be informed that your firm is NOT a member of the BBB! ... and the uninformed will draw their own conclusions - frequently negative!

Just contacted the RCMP in Duncan, BC. Because it is a business transaction, it is a civil issue. I was informed that this doesn't technically constitute stolen property. No surprise in having the RCMP be unable to assist. Hopefully CRA is more relentless.

i almost bought a trigger for one of my Axis (sold my first one) and the guy insisted on using fund transfer and not my Amex because of the huge fees they charge for using the card - this wasn't from Tim's site but I decided not to proceed with the sale. When I do sell my firearms it is strictly through Canada Post COD and have had zero problems and ripoffs. Thanks for posting and venting your frustrations. Good luck hopefully you will obtain a good outcome and you probably saved many members of this forum the same fate.

This can't be seen as "online-fraud" by their cyber crimes people?? Or their fraud division?? I'd be looking to speak with someone at a larger RC detachment.....

He took the product you paid for, and kept your money - how is that not criminal?

I spoke to the RCMP Officer, and asked why it wouldn't be considered Criminal, saying I assumed since it was firearms related, they would be more interested in their follow up. If this is what he is doing, how can we know if the guns weren't stolen or illegal. Someone selling SKS rifles, as well as spare parts and accessories can easily remove/replace parts with SNs for other parts to make a "new rifle" and re sell it (as I imagine what he will try and do in this case)

I'm not done pursuing this. If anything, it will make him known to the community, and perhaps alert anyone in the area of this loser. He is all over the internet selling other items as well. If you live in the area, be on guard.

What kind of cop told you that???

There is such a thing called fraud, it very much applies to business transactions and is most definitely not a civil matter.

Welcome to small claims court if you have the time and inclination..That will be the only resolution. It usually ends up being held in the area the event occurred..

Without being rude, it isn't worth my time and effort to try and "prove it" to you. As I mentioned, I had a previous thread, showing pictures of the rifle when I was in possession of it. I'm not about to try and figure out how to show emails, or banking info etc. I purchased the rifle in November 2015 under the pretenses that it was a non refurb 1949 SKS. I paid by EMT, with a memo noting what I was sending money for, and why. I have the tracking number from Canada Post to show my return, and his receipt of the rifle (which I'm not posting as it contains both mine, and his address) I understand the concern someone may have over slander or ill will etc, but it is what it is.

The CFO took the matter very seriously and assured me they would follow up on it....The RCMP was a dead end on all fronts. Not stolen property, not fraud, not product misrepresentation, not possible firearms offences...nothing. I was told with buying anything online, its buyer beware and its up to the seller, if they are operating a reputable business to ensure their product is advertised properly....this is our legal system folks...might as well start a business saying you sell diamonds, and then ship them toilet paper....what does that say about our laws?

the laws are funny, if you purchase a item on line and never get it its not theft as it was not stolen but given willingly, same case if you get the item then return, how was it stolen? small claims are another story, you would have been better holding the rifle and taking him to small claims way easier to prove the claim.

had a bad deal purchased a shotgun, got a 22, on his word I sent the 22 back expecting the shotgun to show up, guess what, I have no shotgun or 22 and the CGNr is no where to find, it was a 250 dollar lesson learned,
