You don't have to prove anything to me.

Your original description seems pretty plausible, esp in light of the current website messsge.

If nothing else you've saved other from pain, and maybe others who have dealt with mR. SKS will come out of the woodwork.

Good for you for not rolling over and just taking it. Those that do only add to the problem.

Tracking shows the rifle arrived Dec 7th. He picked it up on Dec 9th. On the 11th I sent an email saying "Hi Tim, Just wondering when I can expect the refund EMT."

On the 17th of Dec, after no reply, I sent this "
Hi Tim,
I didn't get a reply from my last email, and I've yet to receive my refund.
If that could be sent ASAP, I would greatly appreciate it.

Then, after sending him a very long email, taking a much more serious tone, and promising to follow up with RCMP, CRA, CFO and the forums, I get this reply (within about 10 hrs)
"Hello (redacted), I am away for the holidays, I will be back in the shop January 1st a much needed vacation, thanks"

This was my reply back to Tim on Dec 22nd..
Hi Tim,

I appreciate your reply, but I'm afraid that doesn't work for me.

You were able to receive the rifle on the 9th, after it arrived on the 7th. I didn't receive any notice from you that you had received the item, or that I would receive a refund, but that there would be a delay until after you return from the holidays. While not the best from a customer service standpoint, it would have been communication, and would have been better than nothing.

Instead, I track the item, and wait a few days after showing it delivered, before sending you an email inquiring about my refund. 3 emails, politely asking you for a reply, and I hear nothing. Yet, within 12 hours of my last email, I get a reply that you're on vacation, and will follow up with me on the 1st, and with still, no acknowledgement or guarantee of a refund.

If you can reply to an email, you can send an EMT, and to satisfy a customer service issue, it should be 5 minutes well spent The optics just aren't looking to great from my end here. Waiting from December 9th, to the 24th is reasonable; especially giving you 3 additional days to come through. Asking me to wait another 11 just doesn't cut it.

I would have though my email would have warranted a more suitable reply. I can only assume two things at this point, you either have no intention of providing me with a refund, or you don't expect me to follow through with my previous email.

I need my refund EMT by this Thursday, at noon EST

I didn't get anything back after that, but on January 3rd...again, offering him an extension of two days from the January 1st that he noted, I sent the following email..
"Hi Tim,
You said January 1st. It is now January 3rd.
If I dont have my refund by 5pm EST tomorrow, I move forward with everything. Last chance. No more holiday delay."

That same day, January 3rd, I get this reply.
We regret to inform you that due to health reasons the owner of sks parts Canada is temporarily unavailable and apologizes for any inconveniences. All accounts will be settled when possible. Thank you for your patience, sks parts Canada.

And now the website is down due to "financial issues and restructuring"

When I was into watches before, there was a site called watchnet where they post experiences about being scammed and post names and the history of the transaction. I am not sure if one already exists here other than the trader rating.

I would support it. I gave the guy ample opportunity to man up and do the noble thing. I didn't want to have it come to this, but he forced my hand. My whole reason for going through with blasting him on the forums is to prevent other people from this guy doing the same thing to them. Before I bought the rifle, I looked everywhere online to see if his name or company came up anywhere in a negative way. I found nothing. So with that, the 20 min talk on the phone to try and vet him even further, and his accommodation in providing a large set of pics of the rifle on two occasions, it seemed like a safe purchase.

Again, buyer beware and yada yada yada, but I even told the guy, I didn't blame or suspect him for the Chinese bayo - I said he was likely a victim in it too. He could have easily told me to screw off, and that the sale was final. But don't go on a tirade, insulting the gun community, tell me to return the rifle, and even remind me 3 days later that "I still have not received tracking on the return. If I don't get a tracking number by tomorrow, then no return". 'to me, that's fraud. He knew I'd return it to him, knowing my investment wasn't worth it, and that I wasn't about to sell it off to someone else.

I may never see my money again, but he'll go through some hell for it.

The CFO was very interested in his operating as a firearms business, and if he properly registered his business. They are also interested to know that at no time, did he ask to confirm if I even had a PAL. Selling firearms online to people without confirming a PAL should have interested the RCMP, but the CFO took a lot more interest with the whole situation than the RCMP.

I feel a bit sick about this. I ordered some parts from him in October. Everything arrived correctly and within a few days. He even threw in an oiler and strap free. Apologies to those I recommended him to.

don't sweat it - you didn't do anything wrong. I'm happy to hear you didn't deal with the same thing I did. Lets just find a way to report these things, and provide a way to inform others of issues before falling victim themselves.

Name noted... I think Ive been lucky to have had so many 'good' dealings over the net... ( I almost got ripped off on some concert tickets once but Visa saved the day on that one ). Ive been reading of your troubles on FB too I think (unless there is multiple '49 scams out there...). So you can rest assured your warning to people is out there

Wow, guess I'm not the only one dealing with issues with this guy. At least you had the rifle shipped to you. Like you I ordered a rifle from Tim on the 26th of November, credit card was charged within 24 hrs and waited for a shipping confirmation or tracking number. Neither came. A week and half later I called a left the first of multiple messages over the next three weeks with no response. Emailed as well with no response either and then received the same January 3rd email as you. Luckily I paid by CC even though he was insisting on EMT. Contacted my CC company just before Christmas to have the charges reversed but was told to wait 60 days "to give the business the chance to remedy the situation" So now I'm just waiting for the 60 days to pass to get the charges reversed. He was very quick to respond to my calls and emails as well before the sale and had also sent multiple extra pics but once the CC was charged there was nothing. Was actually looking at a couple that he had listed but figured that I would go ahead and purchase one to see how the transaction went. Good thing too as its only a $300 charge that should be easily reversed

He is in Duncan - Jonesy suggested a posse on a recent thread questioning the guy - time to mount up? A number of members are close....

No need to apologise, you just told everyone how well he treated you. I see no reason to doubt what you have said. I had no reason to doubt what the complainer said either, until he said that he was NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE ANY EVIDENCE.

You're absolutely right. I'm not willing to provide you with a screenshot of my banking information in order to prove anything to you. Are you someone who can do something about it? If not, then proving anything to you is a waste of time. Am I supposed to provide you proof that I don't have the rifle? Am I supposed to provide you proof that I don't have the money? I have a prior thread on the situation with pictures. I've posted a chain of back and forth emails from myself and the seller above. You can read them if you like, and then question me regarding the validity of those emails, and whether or not I took the time to write out all that stuff just for the heck of it. Then you can ask yourself if the other members on this thread, who are also sharing similar issues with this seller if they are up to something as well. Everybody get your proof out! Someone needs proof.

You're a troll. I'm glad I did what I did. If it spares one person from having to go through this situation, and allows people for a way to alert others of potential issues with sellers, than its a small price to pay to deal with Mr. Proofy Mc Prooferson here....otherwise, go ahead and send him some of your money if you want.

If you insist on evidence, then send SKS man some money, and then you'll have it!!!
