I have rifles and shotguns because I hunt with them. I don't need handguns, and am not much interested in them but I have two. I have had them for a few years and have never fired them. I will get around to it, someday, but that's not the point. I have them because of the people who want to prohibit us having them.
100 people each owning one restricted firearm is far superior to one person owning 100 restricted firearms. I preach the wisdom of joining in and belonging to the group of restricted firearm owners because there is strength in numbers. Even if you have no use for one, the fight to counter the banning has use of you owning one. With each progression, they will be coming for whatever is left. After all, you don't need to hunt when you can buy your meat from the supermarket.
Oh, totally.
BTW, to keep in the tradition of going off thread, I now know why you guys in Canada aren't allowed to hunt with spotlights.

That's not being divisive at all. It's trying to bring long gunners into the fold. It's a message to unite us, and make everyone realise that anti-gun people are, by and large, insane idiots who will stop at nothing.

In 2002 Germany Banned 42 breeds of dogs.
Italy followed suit with their own breed ban, and just a few years ago added corgis to the list.
Australia and the UK have similar bans.
Places in the USA have baned Labs.
And in all these places dog bites have increased.
Just one more example of how knee jerk bans do not work.
Also IMHO Black rifles, semi autos of all types, and handguns are the Canary in our coal mine for our rights and freedoms for firearms ownership in Canada.

Some years back when I played the NFA director game, this was one of the biggest issues among gun owners, "as long as they leave (insert your particular sport/choice of gun here) alone, I don't care what they do."

I really think after the guns we should ban all metal sharp objects. I'd be okay with plastic forks. For every fork and knife out there, there is a potential for a crime. Sign the petition to ban metal forks and knifes today for a safer and brighter future.
