"Was" thinking of a Robinson.... but have you seen EE first two pages??

You're correct, my bad. Richardson ground squirrels are gophers, not sure why I mixed them up. I have to say I've never seen a groundhog in the west like the ones in the east and thought they didn't exist in these parts.

...and that's not even a big one. :) I could post photos that show them, but don't want to hijack this thread. No comparison between the size of the RGS in AB and the groundhogs here in Ontario. It's rare to see anything but juvenile groundhogs at less than 100 yards too, so it can make for some challenging shooting on the adults.

For the extra couple hundred I'd rather buy new, from a business and not have to deal with the hassels of a private sale. Any commonly available, used firearm without at least a 30% markdown on the EE isn't worth the potential trouble.

Exactly... I can't believe what some guys on EE expect to REsell their guns for. Insanity.

To the OP: I think a lot of guys just end up with buyers remorse. 2k+ is a lot of money to have tied up in one gun.
I bought an XCR this year but I have wanted one since they first hit the Canadian market. Getting old sucks....but I do love my mid life crisis XCR. :)

I love how people assume since a gun has a few hundred rounds through it,it should be dirt cheap. Dream on :)

I will enjoy my xcr thank you! I don't regret my purchase one bit.

Yeah, getting old. Talk to me. I'm doing the same thing now, that's what I was looking at the Robinson.

I think this is spot-on. I haven't felt any temptation to sell mine, but every time I open the safe, there is a "what was I THINKING??!?" feeling that washes over me. Then I smile looking at it. :)

With all the selling...

Either people are board and want a new toy OR bought it with money they didn't have to spend in the first place!!!

I feel similarly. On the other hand, it is difficult to stomach losing $1k on a rifle you have only put a few hundred rounds through. Human nature drives us in illogical directions.

I count my shots so if I sell I know how many I have put through my guns. I am sure a few people fib with the round count in their ads.

When I see a seller that posted that he's interested in a 1600 box of norinco .223 one month, and after 2 months he's selling his ar with supposedly "200" rounds through it, I see some big discrepancies there.

Too many rifles with 200 rounds for sale, way too many... even my winchester model 94 30-30 has more than 200 rounds through it and it's a lever action, so...

I had an xcr-l in .223, it was by far my favorite rifle, but i sold it. Even though i have other valuable firearms, i sold it because i need money for something and i knew the xcr would sell fast, which it did. The new owner is in love with it and wont sell it back to me :(.

I put 5k rounds through it, flawlessly. I want it back.

I've found some funny EE listings round counts by looking at sellers recent post count. Seller says 200 rounds down the pipe, only to find a post saying "just ran 500 rounds today without a single FTE/FTF.

I sold my -M with about 130-150 or so. It just doesn't shoot all that great for the money. H4895 and 168 AMAX showed promise, but, 3 round groups just aren't good enough for that sort of money....

I stopped after that round count beacause I just couldn't bring myself to waste any more ammo on what I consider to be a poor design.

A barrel held in place with a cheap set screw........

The Tavor has rails at the 10 o'clock position or 2 o'clock position..which is better than the 3 and 9 in my opinion.
With the extra rails on the XCR, that is why it makes XCR so heavy.

The rails on the XCR are aluminum the weight doesn't come from them I think the weight is due to the long barrel and the gas piston system all hanging over the front of the reciever

I got mine new this summer from Wanstalls, and I'm thrilled with it. (.223, all black) Unfamiliar territory...having a rifle that costs so much in the collection, but I'm getting used to it. :) Mine has functioned flawlessly so far, and I've used it twice groundhog hunting in the last few weeks. It's shooting very well with hand loads, and did very well with 55gr. V-Max Hornady factory loads too. The only challenge with what I'm doing has little to do with the rifle. The 55gr. and 60gr. Hornady V-Max bullets I'm reloading with get their tips bent a little out of shape when (I think) the round gets chambered. Some of the live rounds I've had to eject have slightly deformed tips. Now...I'm reaching for the stars here...trying to get bolt-gun-like accuracy from my XCR so for my purposes, I'm exploring some alternatives like Sierra 60gr. HPs. Anyhow..if you're looking for another vote FOR an XCR, consider this it.

Posted this in the hunting forum...but a groundhog from Saturday, 55gr. V-Max...pretty side showing. Not a "black rifle forum" type of photo I guess, but it's how my only black rifle is getting used!

Pretty beefy groundhog there. How do you like the battlecomp on there? I have mine scoped with a battlecomp as well, but also have an eotech i throw on once in a while. I like the gun and the comp.
