Waterfowling with Cynergy???

What do you "two-shot" waterfowlers think of the Browning Cynergy Synthetic Camo???

Praise and scorn anticipated... let me have it... with "both barrels!"
 
If it kills ducks, then its a good choice. But my personal opinion is that plastic and camo has no business being on an O/U. Im also not a fan of the aesthetics of a cynergy. Looks too new age for my liking. I much prefer the aesthetics of a Citori.

I also want to add that I once hunted waterfowl with a SxS. Since the barrels were a nice polished blue that gave off a mirror like reflection, I covered the barrels with a breathable camo tape that removed very easily without leaving any sort of glue on the barrels and didnt damage anything in the process. It was my way of having concealment without losing out on waterfowl hunting with a double barrel

I agree about nice doubles and synthetic... however I don't think of the Cynergy as a "nice" double... more "utilitarian." "Nice Citori's" are why I am asking the question... late season divers in frozen boats really lay a beating on shotguns... I would prefer to avoid that damage to my favorite upland guns... and I have purged myself of all semi's and pumps.

I totally hear you on this. This is the very reason how i ended up with a Mossberg 935! I didnt want my nice guns taking a beating while bouncing around the bottom of a boat. Those diver hunts have a habit of turning into shooting extravaganza's
 
I'm shooting one this year but only have about a box threw it. I'll be out much more once the temps start dropping and the northerns start showing up.
I bought it used and as soon as I picked it up at the gun counter it was as if it was made for me. (just had to drop the comb) with
Over water I'm starting to like it better than my Citori. So far just shooting 3" as that's all everyone I hunt with shoots and id hate to mix up shells as we usually pull from the gear bag.
I have the Pattern master long range and its been great so far with BB's and 2's hopefully the same when I start with the divers and #4's.
If you enjoy O/U than I don't see why you would not like it.
 
Have been hunting with a 28 inch barreled cynergy synthetic mossy oak grasslands gun for two seasons now...I love it, particularly for being able to quickly make it safe (i.e.: open her up) for fence crossing and shooting parity with my clay guns. There are some times I wish I had an extra shell (such as when the geese land on the x!), but I think the advantages of two different chokes and parity with my clay gun greatly outweigh this disadvantage. I'm getting pretty good at dropping in another two shells though; also the day lasts a little longer when you are only shooting two at a time.

Edited to add: I took my dt11 waterfowl hunting once, and was super sad when I got it all muddy and bloody....never again!! Don't feel bad at all when I get the cynergy all caked up with mud or scratch her up dragging her though the weeds.
 
If good wanted you to shoot an O/U he would of stacked your eyes. SxS where it's at for a double barrel.

If I was to get a an O/U for waterfowling it would for sure be a cynergy. I've had a lot of different doubles. A satin hunter citori, 3.5" shells which I enjoyed but like said didn't want to get too muddy or have in the lay down blind. A composite camo cynergy would be ideal.

Just last hunt I took my CZ ring neck out and it felt great. Didn't miss the 3rd shot too much as I doubled a couple times or took 1 for 2. Two different chokes can be a touch. I even put extended ones in my citori before.

I happen to agree that a Cynergy with 30" barrel, 12 ga, 3 1/2" chamber, with ejectors would make a fine waterfowl gun. It being available in camo is an added bonus. They are a little on the heavy side, but that can be nice when shooting 3 1/2" loads.

I have already purchased the gun... it is the Cynergy Max-5 28" 3 1/2" chambers... the ONLY time it will see 3 1/2" loads is for turkeys... 3" #3's early on ducks, 3" #2's on late divers, 3" BB's on geese... I had not seen the gun when I opened the thread, but now holding it, I think it will be perfect for my waterfowling/turkey hunting purposes... it feels good when shouldering and swinging... my eye lines up right down the rib every time... we'll give it a good work out.

Congrats . I think it will serve you well . I have shot a couple different Cynergys 1 wood and 1 camo . the wood model was a 28" gun and the camo a 26" gun .really think the camo model would be a much smoother swinging gun with the longer barrels .

Thanks...and I was agreeing with his opinion...hence why I said that there is no valid argument against his post.

One day I will own an O/U. To me they are the ultimate shotgun to own. Along with the browning BLR being the ultimate modern lever. Which again.. I will own one day.
