Wayne Newtons Trap Gun is for sale

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. It's too bad some of the best engravers in the World were "forced" to do that type of work (Newton has Mob connections :)). Great way to ruin a perfectly good model 31.

I have to agree!
At the other end of the spectrum, I once saw at a show a Remington pump in 270 that was presented to Jack O'connor.
it was totally engraved and gold inlayed, but what a waste of excellent engraving!!

Not to mention it's ugly. I've shot trap several times in Vegas when the Mint used to sponsor some pretty big shoots. I never saw his fat ass at any of them.

Daaaaaaankaaaaaa Sheeeeen, oh oh oh Daaaaaaankaaaaaa Sheeeeen....

Sorry....I know, I know, ME VERY BAD.....but I just could not help myself!!!

Oh dear, that just brings up so many bad memories.......I hope that goofy song does not end up being an 'ear worm' for me for the next while.

Oh no. There would be some serious buyers remorse on that one; kinda like a Vegas wedding.

Exactly ... ! The very same 31 was up for auction a year or more ago.
Can't remember whether it was at Rock Island or Julia's.

At the time, there was some Roy Rogers and Tom Selleck stuff also up.
Fortunately, their collections were a little more conservative.

I never have cared for engravings on firearms.

Bu that is just cheesy.

Not as cheesy as the Steyr rifle one that surfaced a few years ago on Gunbroker. Allegedly made for a member of the Russian mob, it's main feature was that of a Satyr in the middle of a forest getting it on with a buxom nymph...

Good God, that is hideous.

I still kick myself nearly every day, I had the chance to buy a pair of Remington model 32 o/u with the same serial number, with a little gold inlay on the bottom of the receiver "C.G." the intials stood for Cary Grant.

It was a skeet, trap pair, with nice engraving, though the receiver were still blued.

They were pratically unfired, amazing wood, in a leather fitted case, I could of had them for $5200 US, I didn't pull the trigger because I really couldn't afford it at the time, but man do I wish I had of now,

a mint rem. 32 with no provenance is easily worth $5000 nowadays.

If only I had a time machine.

Sigh.

Gaudy, flashy, hideously ugly and owned by someone with mob ties.

Of course you can say that about anything in Vegas.
