How are you suppose to get one if the US State Dept. will only issue a export permit to Mil/LE end users?Like i said, buy it yourself from a dealer in the US and get it imported here if you really want one.
That's what i did.

I was trying to locate a 14" shotgun through various distributors in Canada and they all told me that the US State Dept. will only issue a export permit to Mil/LE. That was from 3 different distributors.Who said that ?
Source please !

"At this point Shotguns with a barrel length less then 18.5" are not allowed to be exported out of the US without Military or Law Enforcement credentials. We are currently working on it...."
Straight from Steve's mouth @ IRG. I guess I'm a f@#king idiot and don't know what I'm talking about. I know a lot of people in the firearms community. This is a US State Dept. ruling. But again down the road it might change, the US State Dept. has a tendency to waffle on this stuff. One day they will do it and the next they won't. At one point in the early 2000's all AR-15 being export to Canada had to have the post ban configuration i.e. fixed stock, no FH.
As usual the distributors are not telling all the truth, maybe there doing it by purpose, but anyways this is not accurate.

Spoke to Gravel at OTAB & Mossberg at the Shot Show / they both said no exports to Canada of short barrelled shotguns & the Gravel conversation was two weeks ago as I inquired about the MCS complete package / they expressed they would like nothing more but to sell the MCS but cannot based on Remington's Defence policy plus State Department ruling. As Mildot remembers just like I do when you couldn't get any AR other than post-ban configuration, makes no sense to me & never will.

Every company has to apply for a export permit the exact same way. So why would you think one company can get stuff well the other can't? The paper work goes across the same desks at the US State Dept., the department head has to give final approval.Remington, Mossberg and Colt have had strict company policy not to sell their sbr or sbs to anyone but LE and mill agencies for years, nothing new here. but they have no control over grey market in the US.
I'm not surprised about Canadian distributors telling you it's the US State dept policy, but the truth is this is not the case, it's the manufacturers policy not to sell these shotguns to civilians.
So the only way the manufacturer will export these sbs to Canada, is if the final end user is a LE agency or mill, and thats why the Canadian distributors are telling you that.
Like i said the manufacturers have no control over grey market in the US, buy them on Gunbroker or thru a US class 3 dealer and get them exported.

Nothing to do with manufacturer policy. US state department will NOT allow export. Does't matter who the manufacturer is! They cannot be exported by anyone unless US State Department issues export licences!
.Wish dlask would start to do some Mossberg barrels
