Stocker is no longer with us. One of the really good guys, he was always ready to help. His son, who posts here as Northern Boater, may post details about his passing, if he so chooses.
My wife and I were having lunch with a friend today, and I told him that before coming over for lunch, I had sent a PM to Stocker. Tony then told me that he had passed away recently, and that it was quite unexpected.
Stocker was a very fine member of the CGN community. Always quick to assist others in many areas of firearms endeavours, shooting, and hunting, he was a very skilled craftsman, and splendid writer. The advice he offered to guys on here was always spot on, and many times after reading his posts, I felt just a bit better about about the subject being discussed.
I have personally handled, and used successfully, a rifle which had its ruined stock so perfectly restored by Dennis that the repair was difficult to detect. He was truly a man of exceptional talent, and is the second man of this craft to have passed on in the past year or so.
Not only a man of knowledge and skill, but of concern and kindness, Stocker will be missed by many.
There is so much more to say, however there will be others who will say it better. My condolences to Mike and his entire family. You dad was truly one of the best!
Sincerely,
Ted
