Stocker is no longer with us. One of the really good guys, he was always ready to help. His son, who posts here as Northern Boater, may post details about his passing, if he so chooses.

My wife and I were having lunch with a friend today, and I told him that before coming over for lunch, I had sent a PM to Stocker. Tony then told me that he had passed away recently, and that it was quite unexpected.

Stocker was a very fine member of the CGN community. Always quick to assist others in many areas of firearms endeavours, shooting, and hunting, he was a very skilled craftsman, and splendid writer. The advice he offered to guys on here was always spot on, and many times after reading his posts, I felt just a bit better about about the subject being discussed.

I have personally handled, and used successfully, a rifle which had its ruined stock so perfectly restored by Dennis that the repair was difficult to detect. He was truly a man of exceptional talent, and is the second man of this craft to have passed on in the past year or so.

Not only a man of knowledge and skill, but of concern and kindness, Stocker will be missed by many.

There is so much more to say, however there will be others who will say it better. My condolences to Mike and his entire family. You dad was truly one of the best!

Sincerely,
Ted

This is sad news, thoughts and prayers to Stocker's family... he's already in the happy hunting grounds...

Thank you Ted.
Dennis was committed to a lifetime of hunting, shooting and quality firearms, he was also an avid fly fisherman.
These interests lead Dad to a career with the BC CO service doing predator control and enforcement work on Vancouver Island. Later transferring north to the BC Peace Country as a Senior CO and later moving to Provincial Fisheries in Williams Lake.
Those that knew him and showed interest would get to see the latest projects at hand, be it a new stock being whittled from a blank, or the latest fly rod or traditional salmon pattern he was working on, perfection always showed and I admired his abilities.
Dennis, aka Stocker and Pops passed Nov. 19 after spending a week spent with family spanning four generations and deer hunting.

I am one of the fortunate CGN'ers to have been given guidance by this true artist.
Eager to lend advise and encouragement, his tutelage was, and is invaluable to me.

You will be missed Stocker, RIP.

My condolences to his family and friends.
