We need to support Maxime Bernier

This or several other things could happen. Terrorist attack, Trump trade war, legalization of marijuana issues, are 3 other things off the top of my head that could cause issues for the liberals... we are in turbulent times and I'm not sure Justin will do as well when tested with a serious issue. A lot can happen in two years in this new fast paced world we live in.

One thing I think could cause a big problem for JT is his spending!!!
I don't think it will happen... or if it does it will be slow.... but if there is every a jump in interest rates!! WATCH OUT!!!

Got my ballot in the mail today. Vinny Qc, ya gotta lose this poor victim act, we're broke too.

Big time , and the west has pumped 400 billion in equalization payments to Quebec over the years so you are hardly victimized or second class.
I don't think that and I'm in Alberta. Also more on topic , a few people in my area are starting to talk about Bernier positively, I think he could catch on more than people think out here in the west. I could be wrong but people are talking.

Throw the glue bag in the garbage.
That stuff will damage your brain.
Bernier is a non starter west of quebec.
Looks like trudeau will be parking his suitcase at 24 sussex drive after 2019.

Why do you say non starter West of Quebec? Seriously, I'm interested to hear the argument. I assure you, my glue bag has been put away...

There's gonna be a lot of gun owners voting against bernier because he is quebecois. A lot of people who would otherwise agree with him on policies will vote against him becuase "he's just another frog and we don't want another one".

I have to disagree with you on this, being a western Canadian and a gun owner, Bernier appeals to my values of freedom and smaller government (and apparently appeals to most CGN'ers based on the polls). His being from Quebec is only a first impression (but being open minded), after only a very short time of listening to him speak, I found him to be charismatic, intelligent, and consistent with his platform (unlike so many others). Everyone is free to say what they want (at least for now our free speech is intact) but I feel a sense that many people are eager for a change from Trudeau's destructive course, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Trudeau's liberals are one and done.

Bernier check mates Justin in the whole French thing, marijuana thing, and yes, he is an attractive older man lol. The sun called him "the attractive CPC candidate" yes stupid I know... but anyway, he stands a chance and looks like a great direction for the CPC to start in, win , lose or draw.

Alberta's opinion of the next PC leader doesn't matter. At most, there's 5 ridings to win in alberta for the next election.

Ontario is where elections are won or lost. No matter who the next PC leader is, he would still have lost the last election even if he had taken all of alberta (Harper lost only 5) and all 30 of the 40 liberals from quebec. On the other hand, take 3 out of 5 from alberta, and half the 80 liberals from Ontario, and you've got a narrow minority.

The only realistic way to win for the cons is some gains in atlantic (where they have 0 seats), major advances in ontario, and keep what they have in Quebec and west of ontario. In order to do that, the PC needs a candidate who's liked in ontario, and that's not a quebecois, and that's certainly not maxime bernier.

And that's not 400 billions, that 400 gazilion millions trilions in eq payments. Plus a bushel of wheat.

I don't think Bernier speaks English well enough to get vote outside of Quebec. Quebecer support supply management and they like the idea of big government pushing them around. He's not getting anymore seat in Quebec either. Andrew Scheer is the way to go.

Ontario and Quebec do decide most elections , agreed. And if you think the 400 billion number is wrong , look it up , not sure what your making fun of there. Also by the west , I mean more than just Alberta.

This is admittedly somewhat anecdotal, but in Vancouver, I detect no anti-French or anti-Québécois sentiment. In fact, Anglophones can't seem to get enough French. The demand for French immersion programs is massive. The wait lists are huge. And the programs are very French-Canadian. In most schools there's a student trip to Quebec every year...and then the kids from Quebec come here in exchange. I can honestly say that I've never once heard a parent or adult say negative things about Quebecers. Seriously...

Agreed , I harbour no ill will or bad feelings at all towards the French or Quebec and don't know anyone who really does.
I actually did French (the language) as a subject in school until I graduated in grade 12. First because my mother made me but in high school by choice. I'm not a huge bilingual guy or anything but still retain the core of what I learned. I don't regret learning it at all. Also when you think about it , it was Quebec (or a lot of Quebec anyway) who wanted to separate years ago , not Canadians trying to kick you out , remember that , don't know where this victimization came from.
Not trying to start stuff or derail , just throwing it out there.
