No animals, or no pictures?![]()
No big game animals so far,
Do you mean to tell us that you have all of those Weatherby rifles, and you have been so strongly defending Weatherby for so many pages on this thread, and you haven't even killed a single animal with one of your Weatherby rifles?
I at least killed a dozen or so animals with Weatherby rifles before passing judgment on them, yet you are here bragging up the Mark V as a hunting rifle, and you have yet to kill a single big game animal with one.
That is truly priceless.
Just how many big game animals have you yourself actually killed?
I have been shooting, collecting and reloading for 25yrs. No where did I mention bragging about hunting
We where discussing accuracy and the love of the Mk V rifle.
Unreal...............
I guess that we can take that to mean that you have never killed a big game animal.
But not at all unexpected for someone who is not even a hunter to brag up a rifle that was designed specifically as a hunting rifle.
I must remember to sell all my "hunting" rifles right away because I haven't shot any big game...
The only reason these "professionals" use Winchesters is because they are cheap and disposable rifles
.
The author was quite slanted towards Mausers. High end custom ones at that.
I have owned Mk V's for close to 20yrs and have fired hundreds of rounds through them and NEVER had one go off when disengaging the safety or had a round stick in the chamber
Depends on what and where you will be hunting. For general all round use, the 300WM is the better choice.
The 444 will drop anything in NA. That is all that matters in the end.
None so far, but feel free to post your pictures of kills with a Weatherby![]()
What you can do is stop pretending that you know more about hunting rifles than professional hunters, that actually use their guns to hunt.
Do you realize how silly the statements below sound coming from a non hunter?
And the one below is pretty meaningless as well, since the PHs are referring to incidents that happen under actual hunting conditions, not at the range.
You don't hunt, yet you are giving cartridge recommendations for hunting.
Now if you want to continue going on and on about how nice your Weatherby rifles look, and how good they make you feel,by all means, carry on doing so, but at least the people that have read this thread now know that you aren't a hunter, and haven't killed any big game animals. That being the case, people are now aware that any recommendations or opinions that you post about hunting rifles or hunting cartridges, are totally baseless, and shouldn't be taken as having come from a source with any credibility on the subject.
And we all know how credible your opinions are, being a professional hunter and all
I never posted that I was a professional hunter, but I have killed ten different species of big game animals, totaling around a hundred animals. I have also been present to personally witness more than that killed by other people that I hunt with. So I guess compared to you I do have a lot more experience to base my opinions about hunting rifles and cartridges on. Actually most people on this forum have more actual hunting experience than you do, and accordingly, I give much more credibility to their opinions about hunting rifles and cartridges, than I would ever give to yours.
Just like you,I enjoy looking at pictures of big game animals that have been harvested over the years, but the difference is, that when I look at those pictures, some of those animals were actually killed by me.
By the way, I did receive PMs from forum members thanking me for exposing you for what you are. To those people, you are very welcome.
I'm not a real Weatherby guy, because I only have 3 three, don't think they possess any magical qualitys, any usually lose something else. Be that as it may, they are solid rifles that happens to fit me very well. My .300 isn't even a Weatherby cartridge anymore, but that didn't stop it from killing 10 big game animals in the first year of being a .300 Win. One of those was my son's first moose. He doesn't shave very often, but manages to scratch down the occasional truckload of deer with his .257. Please don't tell him that I foisted an inferior piece of junk off on him, because the kid actually does believe that his does possess magical properties and kills everything it is pointed at. Hate to pop his bubble, or shatter the fragile illusions of youth.

Actually stubblejumper I'm getting sick and tired of listening to your constant put downs in the various forums. What a great and mighty hunter you are in your own eyes. Every forum on the net has one of you and every bar in town has one of you also. If you have nothing useful to say on this thread then please leave!!!
