Have a few Tikkas and hands down the slickest is the old M658 action - silky, buttery smooth. T3's are pretty good, but don't have that polymer sleeve to stabilize the bolt when it's cranked back. My Vanguard's action is okay, not as smooth as the t3's but who notices when it's followup shot time? Complaint I had against the Vanguard was the trigger - horrid. I've heard otherwise, but mine was terrible - couldn't be cleaned up or adjusted anywhere near acceptable. Swapped it out for a Timney and now the thing can shoot - went from 1.25" @ 100 to 0.5" with a Ballistic S'Tip 95 grain handload with a simple trigger swap, so the rifle definitely is accurate. Other beef is the quality of the barrel blueing - pretty well as cheap as my $200 Stevens. I expected it on the Stevens, but not on the W'by. And mine has the tan/black spider-webbed rubbery stock as well - really like the stock. Well fitted, good gription in any weather.
