Should I get the 308 or the 30-06. I just want it for long range targets 500+meters. Thoughts? And in my area I still have the choice.

For that purpose, I say .308. A lot more available in terms of target ammo.

IIRC from my gun counter days these have very nice stocks in terms of weight and feel, as far as synthetic stocks go. Lots of interesting camo patterns though, like the the kryptek snow camo.

Actually, if I had the pesos, I'd do the same thing so I could give 'em out to me mates to let them have a very decent rifle for hunting & plinking.

These 5 calibers were on sale in Feb this year for $487.50 and with the buy more save more event this riffle can be had for about $425 at the time (that is with the regular black synthetic stock)... With this deal, it really only saves you about an additional $25 however you have to take the funky looking stock. Is this a good deal? Yes... But not to the point that makes me want to stock up.
