Savage17 said:My referring to another artical where they used 18 different loads of 3 shot groups and the savage rifle averaged 1.08" basically 1" . This artical was not about the cheaper savage package series gun!! 18 different loads and still 1" and you couldn't get tighter than 1 1/2 with 4 savages!!!!!!!

The smallest single grouping was 5/8th of an inch in the 11F article, what about all the others, they don't count?
I did get in under an inch occasionally with my savages, but it would seldom duplicate it. Out of 5 groupings about an 1 1/2 was closer to the norm. The calibers I had were, 308, 7mm, 300 win, and 223... It was not a consistant MOA shooter.. I don't take the one single smallest grouping and totally forget about all the others..
The gun magazine also said the Remington 710 got a smaller average grouping, does that make it a better rifle ?
Yet I have no problem get consistancy from the Sako, Rem, Kimber and the Vanguards and Tikkas. Does this mean they are better than the Savage, not really.... The savages were OK, but by no means outshot any of these others I own.
Savage does make great Varmint rigs like the Series 12 Low profile Varminter up in the 800 to 1000 range that shoot tight and consistant but I did not find it in their light barrelled hunting rifles but I would expect it from a 10lb heavy barrelled Varmint rig.
Buy all the savages you want, TIMO still has an awesome looking and shooting Vanguard that he does not need to trade in for a Savage.
Making statements like all Savages will outshoot everything else and they are all submoa shooters, will its just funny to hear.....
