Webley MK1 letter or FRT

Hello CGN,

I have to need to transport an antique Webley MKI via commercial flight. I've flown with restricted firearms before but don't expect things to go smooth with the Webley and no registration certificate or ATT (which are not required). Sooo.... I don't have an RCMP letter for the Webley, I don't particularly want to send it to the lab (and I definitely don't have time before I need to fly).

Does anyone in CGN land have an RCMP letter they were willing to share that indicates that all MK1s are antiques? Alternately if someone has access to the FRT table an excerpt of that might do. Also if anyone has experience flying with an antique....I'm all ears for advice or past experiences.

Usually people are pretty quick with the FRT printouts, but if you are still looking for one, pm me your email, I have a scan of one.

I've flown with my webley, the FRT or registration was never asked for. I did have a BSF 407 issued to me by customs so I could take it to the US and have something to prove Canadian origin, never had to show them the FRT either.

The police had to come and open the gun case. It had to be police because I stated that there were firearms inside. The x-ray machine flagged my external hard drive for inspection, not my guns.

Also, pro tip - if your gun case is large enough you can put other items in it and save on checked luggage fees. Mine is just a huge long hard suitcase with removable foam. I usually take the foam out and replace it with clothes, pack everything tight, guns between the layers and that's my checked in item.
