Website hard to navigate

Not a fan of the new website. I'm usually using Safari on my iPad and I find the site hard to navigate. The old site was easier to use and the only thing it required was a filter to show 'in stock' items, IMHO.

I haven't bought anything from CA since the new site was released.

Black page, red band across top, no photos.

I'm using Firefox on a laptop.
Worked fine a few days ago.

It's been fine for me with Explorer 11 since Tuesday.

People naturally hate the new and love the old. Some of you will recall about a year ago CGN changed some things on this website and there were threads on how awful it was and that some loud people would leave if it wasn't restored. They're still here and still loud (but easily ignored).

I'm already accustomed to the new layout, I just hope that it isn't changed in major ways in the near future - and that it be reliable.

Some keep talking about loving or hating "new" things. Fact is the old site worked for me and now the new site won't load properly. I can see home page and can't go further. Once again they are losing sales.

-100 internet points for canams new site. It wont work on ALL devices at my house. The new site is fit for the pit

i have to say,,i'm one who liked the old site way better,,,new site pretty much sucks,,,you can't view it easily like the old one,,,i find i have to use the search feature constantly if i want to find something,,,i agree,,website designer must be fresh out of school,,,i also used to go surf the CANAM website all the time to see what's new or on sale,,now,,not so much,,too bad too,,these guys REALLY know how to throw a sale,,,probably the best of the bunch,,,if they could only go back to the old style system which most people liked,,,

this many people complaining about the frustrating new site can't be overlooked,,something is wrong and should be fixed,,like it was suggested here by somebody knowlegable,,,"trying exit-intent modals to catch people exiting the new site out of frustration" would really show Canada Ammo how many people quickly click off their site when they can't find anything and going to another site for their purchases,,customers probably lost forever to the competition,,i am REALLY surprise NOBODY from Canada Ammo is responding to these comments,,i realize they must be crazy busy,,since their sales are always so freakin awsome,,LOL..but to keep growing,,a company REALLY needs great customer service and fast shipping,,,lots of sales is nice,,but prompt processing and shipping is crucial,,,like someone mentioned before,,most companies on the internet try very hard for next day shipping instead of next week shipping,,customers appreciate that..if they are that busy,,then it's time to hire extra help....all this being said,,the Canada Ammo people are very nice to deal with,,and have been great to deal with,,and when you DO finally get someone on the phone,,,they are usually very nice,,,but again,,having a company answering system that tells you,"they dont answer the phones between 12 and 3 so they can concentrate on shipping really shows they NEED to hire help..i mean when is the last time you heard a message like that from a vendor,,LOL...

thankfully for CanAm people grow old and no one born in the last 30 years is having a problem with their website. Weather the "storm" and keep evolving, cus if you don't your moving backwards. Progression people.

progression is supposed to me,,PROGRESS,,,not backwards,,,and those old coots you feel can't evolve,,,well,,THEY have the disposible income for this stuff,,so thinking they should be just left behind is NOT good buisness,,,and i doubt CanAm feels that way,,

This is, what, the 3rd thread dedicated to the love / hate relationship people are having with the CanAm site?

To me, it looks to be geared towards people shackled to their mobile devices, or users of touchscreens / tablets. I run Win7 and IE 11 on my home PCs,
and the site functionality was better the last time I checked; many of the bugs have been addressed. No smartphone love from me, and I am not that old (just old-fashioned, I guess).

I still dislike the categories / sorting, and how the sort feature always defaults back to 'featured' every damned time you make a change to a filter or a page.
For me, the saving grace is the email feature for items on my 'wishlist', and it is just about the only reason I will ever go to the site now.

Also, if you take a look under the ammunition by calibre filter, there is some duplication that must be the result of lazy data entry (12ga / 12 gauge),
and the bullets (projectiles) are jumbled together with the cartridges.

Thing that most drives me bonkers about the CanAm website: nothing I want is ever in stock!

I'm finding that the e-mail for wishlist item's doesn't work all the time!! And CA is eraseing some items before I can put them on my wishlist even though I had a e-mail saying they may be in Stock down the road???

this much hate for the new website has got to be a concern for CanAm....which they will most likely adress soon,,,it's costing buisness and lost buisness is lost dollars,,,and no vendor wants that.

I doubt that most of the "I will never shop there,,, cus I hates the new site" folk will never return to the site.

Looks like a custom programmed build. These things come with growing pains. Personally not my approach, but I don't know what their requirements were so I can't 'pass judgement'.

Google is officially measuring 'mobile friendliness' and it does affect page rank. I'm sure that whatever short-term pain they feel will be worth it. Most of the sponsor sites I've visited aren't responsive. A few look like they're from my AOL days on dial-up lol

My advice is to change the CSS depending on what browers you are using. The older browers versions don't have to look good but you HAVE TO MAKE IT USABLE. Go back to IE9 at least. Remember it doesn't have to look good just usuable. Or at least make it so it tells you that the browser you are using is outdated and unsupported.

Good Luck
