Weird Ejection issue, seeking help (AR15)

You're welcome. Glad your gun is back up and running.

I should also ask: What weight of buffer did you add in? Have you considered swapping to an extra power spring?

Over gassed rifles tend to beat themselves to death very (very) quickly, accentuate problems or wearing parts, and necessitate more aggressive cleaning and lubrication schedules. Investing some money in as heavy a buffer as you can find (I've used Slash's Heavy Buffers, makes the gun much smoother) along with a Wolffe XP spring ($15 or so) can give you a few thousand rounds of extra life span out of your parts/gun.

I just went with a quick fix, and picked up a Spike's T2 buffer. I should point out that I don't have the part, and haven't guaranteed that it will work. I still need to take it out and try it! Sorry for the confusion

Those T2 buffers work well. If you want to totally tune the weight to your upper you can get a SSS spring and tune it to your rifle. ( cutting it until your ejection is where you want it )

Just a little update. A friend of mine who does most of my smithing and work on my gun offered to help do some diagnosing with the gun, even though I still don't have the Heavy buffer.

With the set up I have running now, just by removing the A6 muzzle break, it seemed to fix the problem. It didn't have any malfunctions, and was ejecting at about 2-3 o clock. The muzzle break wasn't getting the gas out, likely causing the gassing issues.

A new PWS flash hider and the T2 buffer, and it should be singing like a bird in no time.

CF armourer once explained to me, they had a similar problem with the early DIEMACO editions. Can't remember the details, but it involved ejector length.

Not me in the video, but a friend.

With the new heavy buffer, as well as the new PWS flash hider, this thing is working perfectly. Consistently throwing brass out 6-8 feet at 2.5 o clock. I couldn't be happier with how it works

So in conclusion, extraction issues I was having had nothing to do with the extractor, but over gassing due to light buffers and to much compensation in the muzzle break.

Thanks for everyone's help!

I had something similar happen to me but it was due to the magazine i was using. I had an old 30 round mag pinned to 5, and if i tried putting anymore then 3 rounds in the mag i would get a similar malfunction. However, with LAR-15 mags no issues, and the guy i sold it too has had no issues since. One particular time it bent a live round trying to feed it forward.

The ejector spring was to long and exerted to much pressure so it was causing the casing to jump off the extractor before the casing could clear the ejection port causing stove pipes.

I dont even understand neither of your concepts. First its Loctite, places you should use Loctite or Rocksett if you can get it and stake are....

1) gas key bolts. Loctite and stake
2) any kind of clamp on gas block or set screws. Loctite or Rocksett and stake
3) rail systems attachment bolts. Loctite
4) castle nut. Loctite and stake
4) BUIS . Loctite
5) Flash hider. Loctite better yet Rocksett
5) accesories you dont want to rattle loose. Loctite

1 to hot locktite useless, stake in place
2 to hot locktite useless, stake in place
3 Yup
4 Staking works just fine
4 ok but most will stay put if torqued properly
5 to hot locktite useless, crush washer with flash hider is the 99.99% solution, pin on for extended suppresor use
5 lots of stuff falling off your rifle?

Im one of those weird guys who put reference marks on all my essential screws (Free float, BUIS, Optic mounts, etc) to visually see if theyre coming loose. I can take them off with ease, and can see if they are coming loose. The paint can be removed easily when it comes time to sell the parts. Other than doing that, the only parts that get loctite are the magpul parts that come with it, my DD free float, T1 mount screws, and the gas block.
