Weirdness in the woods

My kids and I have built over a dozen structures in northern Ontario that are km’s from the closest vehicle access. I wonder how many have been found and labeled as Bigfoot structures 🤣

There’s a reason nobody has any concrete evidence of Bigfoot existing 😉
Thats what figured also. Bushcraft stuff is fun and popular but everytime i go back its gone ..
Not pulled apart and laying on the ground.. where are the logs ?
Is the dna hair sample enough concrete evidence?? Dr. Melba ketchem 2013

OP,
Your monkey whoops and hollars were almost certainly Barred owls.
They can make a huge variety of hoots and hollars, screeches and the like. Especially when they get together.
On or near a quiet evening lake…….

Possibly, the dying animal was a snowshoe hair or squirrel but just as likely the barred owls. They do that.

For your other story, who knows, Its Alberta we’re talking about. 😱👽
If anyone is out in the woods and hears something up overhead asking 'Who cooks for you?' that is also most likely going to be a barred owl and not some wendigo looking for a job!.

When I use to live in Powell River we use to go mushroom picking during fall to earn our liquor money. (The legal kind, pines and chantrells. Not the magical kind of mushrooms).
We explored a lot of forest there from north of town near Lund and south of town off the logging roads. And just about everywhere between.
This one time I was out with my buddies X-Ray and Juicy Brucey. We were trying a new spot pretty much centre of town. Up at the top of Nootka st between the airport and Nootka.
It’s hard to explain, but all the forest around town pretty much looks the same when you’re in the woods. But not this area. There’s just something off about that spot. The light, the spacing of the trees and the ground you walk on. Not to mention there was no sound. And when someone would speak it was like you were in one of those soundproof rooms. Like I said, it’s hard to explain, but the second we walked into the tree line we all just had a felling of something is wrong with this place. But we kept on walking deeper into the woods anyway. The further we got in the stronger that feeling of “we shouldn’t be here” got. A few more minutes in all 3 of us at the exact same time had our flight response triggered. There was no talk or discussion on whether we should leave or not. All three of us just started running back the way we came in as fast as we could. We didn’t see or hear anything. We just had an overwhelming feeling of we need to get out of here.
I have no explanation other than when I was telling my mom about what happened. She said there use to be a group of Satanists that were doing weird stuff in the forest somewhere around the end of Nootka st.
I have heard some other stories about that area. My best friend’s grandpa lived up there. He would tell us “ghost stories” about stuff he would see in his house. But we just assumed he was trying to scare us.
I’m not saying there’s something supernatural going on there. But the feeling we had was very real.

Melba ketchem!? Maybe spend a few minutes researching before claiming that bogus study is concrete evidence? Nutjob and grifter are suitable titles…

How many gofundme’s has she run to steal money from believers? 😉

The one to win dinner with her and maybe meet Bigfoot! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I was headed one morning to my blind. It's dark and I am about 700m deep in the woods from the edge of the farmer's field. It's private land, I expect no one.

Two sets of eyes spark up up as they catch my headlamp's light.... about six feet in the air. I damn near #### my pants.

Raccoons in a tree.

I don't know about funding DNA diagnostics , or understand funding structures enough to call someone a thief. Ill take your word for it.

Melba graduated texas university and 5 years veterinarian doesnt sound like a drifter or a NUTJOB. By todays standards.

I think B.f. hair is a creditable evidence.
Id be interested to here her ideas and views over dinner, NO
matter how far out they sound..

steve did an interview with her on his how to hunt. channel while back.worth a listen
You dont meet eh b.f.
B.f. meets you..hahahha

Good stories and experiences gunnies.👍

It’s pretty easy to find bad things about her, seeing as practically every search result I looked at had something negative to say. 🤣

It blows my mind that people actually pay to have dinner with this wingnut and go on Bigfoot hunts. Let me know when there’s some real evidence. Like an actual Bigfoot and not some make believe nonsense. 😉

In the early 1990’s a group of us had gone on a 10 day moose hunt in NW Alberta. One day we were all out hunting and met back at camp around noon. We had lunch and all headed back out hunting except 1 friend decided he was going to have asleep in the afternoon. When we came back to camp he said that there was a weird sound when he was sleeping. He said it sounded like someone was taking a big stick and whacking a tree right outside the tent. As soon as he moved in the tent the noise stopped. We laughed and said you probably had too many beer.
That night we were all in the tent sleeping. About 1:00 a.m it started. About every 2 seconds whack, whack, just like my buddy had described earlier. We were all awake just listening for about 20 minutes not saying a word. It sounded like about a 2” dry stick being whacked against the tree 20’ from the tent. Two of my buddies tried to quietly get out of bed. Whatever it was heard them and the noise stopped, we all went outside with guns and flashlights and found nothing.
The following year we went back to the same spot. On the third night we heard the exact same thing.
To this day we have no idea what it was. We know it wasn’t any other hunters as we had hauled camp in with quads 34 km.

I have had some cool and some very poop ur pants experiences over the years... almost all of them are simple animal encounters.
Every year when I buy my tags I include one that everyone looks at as (it seems) to be ridiculous. I always get a cougar tag.. but I've been stalked by several cougars. I'm not saying I would avoid them in a night club.... but the wild and crazy ones are different.... and if I have to kill one.. I want to keep it... and it is good meat btw... very tasty..
I save my stories for the campfire though...
The Tom won't tell you it's there BTW

Anyone use a thermal imager?
Not sure of the legality for thermal scopes, so far. {available though}
Bought a Flir E4 handheld unit years ago & "upgraded".
Can certainly see even the warm footprints of critters.. a few minutes later.

Coincidentally, Bigfoot fur insulates them so well that not even thermal imaging can find them in the woods.

Not only this, but their feet are so large that they distribute the weight so much that they don’t even leave tracks behind!

You’d think with thousands upon thousands of trail cameras being used annually across Canada they would provide photo evidence. Nope! They’ve evolved to smell trail cameras and to avoid them!

Man, those guys are great at playing hide and seek! 🤣 🤣

I've never had cougar, but I did have lynx meat once. It was part of a men's night, where all the dishes were meat based. A friend brought a mystery meat, and it tasted quite good! No one guessed what it was though... My coworker looked sick to his stomach when he found out that he'd eaten a cat lol.

Another short story, although perhaps unremarkable: a friend and me once built a log cabin in the bush near his parents house and lived in it for a winter. Lots of good times out there... But after I had left to go back to college, he stayed for a bit longer. One day he was walking back and he said he felt an intense, unmistakable sense of evil. He's not a guy who gets rattled easily, but he was pretty tense I guess. He was scanning the area, and eventually he saw a raven sitting on a branch, just watching him. He swore to me that the raven was the source of that evil.

What was different about that raven versus the thousands of others he would have come across, I don't know, but he figured something was off about it! Maybe it was a primal sense of being watched, or maybe it was something more than that, who knows?

This video gets some attention not only because it's wild, but because these campers were so genuine about their story.

Your story reminded me of this video. I live in Alberta, and my experience was NW alberta as well. Near valley view.

Where did your experience happen? (Roughly)

That's quite the story! I know that exact feeling. I've had that on a couple occasions. Not necessarily in the woods, but in certain places and homes. Just a sense of "I'm in danger and I shouldn't be here"...

Funny enough, Tucker Carlson shared a story about a similar thing to you.

This reminded me of your story.

If anyone is out in the woods and hears something up overhead asking 'Who cooks for you?' that is also most likely going to be a barred owl and not some wendigo looking for a job!.
That's the first thing I looked up, is what bird it may be. I listened to every clip I could of barred owls on youtune, and it didn't sound like that. But I also know that animals can sound very different than their typical calls. Some animals, like elk, rarely branch out of their usual calls. But even then, my brothe in law told me about an old bull in NW alberta that just sounded really weird, and many hunters in the area knew about him, and my brother in law would hear him year after year because his call was so unique. So who knows! I'd rather it be a barred owl for sure!

But my grandfather in law's reaction when I told him about what I heard, was what raised my eyebrows. If barred owls were known to the area, which from my research arn't around that area of BC (but who knows), I'm sure he would of mentioned that. He really did give the strangest look when I told him.

Back in the dark ages we used to do all the maintenance and repair of the logging equipment at night. There was 2 of us for 30 some pieces of iron so we worked by ourselves for 90% of the time.
Lunch was usually around 2am and when we logged in the mtns we could watch these weird lights in the sky.
Definitely not conventional aircraft as no plane could move like these things.
My partner and i would yap back and forth on the bush radio while we both watched these weird lights from different perspectives 10 miles apart.
They changed colour, made sounds, disappeared and then reappeared.
Pretty wild.
I've heard of these lights so many times. Even the US government is releasing that they've seen these countless times via military observations. If you look up Sasquatch Chronicles strange lights, the host of that show and many guests have run into these in the sky and in the woods. I think there is something to it for sure.
