There she is; just arrived today as promised by the good people of Wolverine. It seems smaller than my SKS(but I can't compare the two because I sold both of mine yesterday  ).
Overall description of the rifle: VERY NICE(looks good, feels good and appears to be working good).
It does have the unusual stock, which will take time getting used to(or replace).
Now, the bad: the folding stock has not been included in the shipment, apparently because they vere not sent by the Czechs, yet.
Check out the pics.

Hmm... interesting, front sling swivel looks liek a key ring? Also, have the rear sight/gas block markings been milled out? Looks that way in the pics???

never heard anything back yet form them. Submitted that form. Called once. Sent another email.
Just waiting.

my vz58 has the flat stamped sling retainer and a closed front sight

can you take pics of the inside of the reciever? I want to see the differences between the 2

1st impression is it looks very nice. I don't even see any rust!

I kinda like the longer barrel, the longer sight radius should help with accuracy. Is that a factory test target that came with it? What range (distance) was it tested at?

From what I gathered from an 18B doing duty over in the Czech Republic the only difference in the guns is the non restricted one is arsenal refurbed using a new (non restricted) production barrel...

He has been in the factories so I dont doubt his word.

The front sight is different in the pic to my VZ58. Mine looks for more like an SKS front sight than what you have. No rust in the VZ58 I have, when I got it. The only thing I had to do was remove shavings from the trigger with break free. Other than that it looks like yours. Your CZ858-2 is nice ( good shape) , and I hope you are going to enjoy it as much as I do my VZ58!

I recommend the modern military (grand power Slovak) brake and that you give it a 2x nickel plating job! After firing 1800rnds though it, the brake was showing some surface rust. I shot my gun today with the plated brake and it works very well just as it did except that now it is rust proofed! I even ran Hungarian through it and let it sit for a few hours. . Nada, no pitting, nothing. plus it looks cool

pics coming soon :D

And here's the paper target that came with it. I like that.
Oh yes, the holes in the paper .... that's ALWAYS a good thing, it means this gun actually hit something :D :D

And somebody was asking about the sight...

Yep, something HAS been milled off that front sight block. I'm guessing the original serial number, proof marks and the 1960's production date. Voila! Brand new production...
