As said, you then have to push down on the rounds themselvs to fill the magazine. It's not like a Garand or something where the clip and all are inserted.
 
yeah, I could figure out how the strap can fit thru with that metal button on the strap. I must be missing brain matter.
 
I'm sure you figured it out, but the metal button on the strap simply pops out. It had me confused for about 10 seconds, then I felt silly.
 
The sling also confused me at first and the ring looked realy hokey...but once I pulled out the button from the leather end then through the ring back through the buckle , then through the sling swivel on the stock and back to the other side of the sling to reconnect it with the button. It makes sense when its together and the ring seem sort of OK as it allows the sling to move around and not bind. We are very pleased with the quality and condition of these guns.
 
DUh? some one ##### slap me :oops: The strap was more problem to figure out than the take-down.
Fired around 140rds yesterday, only one FTE. It is accurate enough at 50yards with iron sights. Lighter recoil than I thought it would be :!:
I fired it an angles, sideways, and 5rds with the rifle upside down, functioned flawlessly. Very simple to take down. Well worth the $ paid for it.

Funny, I fired 21 rounds as fast as I could, with the mag changes as fast as possible. Not 30 mins later, an RCMP helicopter wizzed by overhead. (low enough to see the blue and yellow stripes and the pilot :?: :? I think I will be taking the registration papers anywhere this rifle goes, as it may get some undesired attention. :lol:

The SAME THING happened to me when I lived in Fredericton! I was out shooting my SKS-D a dumped 4 mags as fast as I could change them. I was shooting from a covered deer stand on the ground, and when I saw the chopper come over the treeline I made sure I wasn't visible and stayed in the stand (The last thing I want is to talk to a bunch of nosey Cops on my day off). They didn't just wizz by though, the circled around a few times be for flying off. If there was a flat enough area, I wouldn't have been supprised if they landed. :roll:
 
In my opinion, they were already in the air in my area, and received a dispatch. This isn't the first time, at least the 3rd time at my range..... :?

I picked up mine yesterday. All in all, pretty pleased. If I hadn't have known it was made from 'surplus' parts, I probably never would have known. Definately worth the money from a look cool factor, plus the build quality is scores above my norinco SKS.

Now I'll have to see how it shoots compared to the old SKS-D.

Gonna party like it's 1958!

Oh yea, mine has the small front sight post, and the 'keyring' strap holder.
