Yeah i've been doing some thinking about this for fun. Maybe a magnesium shroud to really make it light weight? Can only be as strong as aluminum though... Maybe titanium but that's getting heavy. Could maybe go supper gucci and use carbon fiber hahaha. And if the barrel is threaded, just base it off a thread protector and an other spacer/ring in the back. Limit heat transfer so you can hold it too. But i'd be worried about the barrel overheating maybe...
 
We are currently in the process of tooling up. There were a few delays as the FRT had to be finalized with the RCMP so unfortunately everything was put on hold.

Now that we are good to go we will update everyone with some of the upgrades to the SBR-9 once the production run starts.

No worries guys. I'm sure all of us understand how this wait will be worth it considering how you went out of your way to add a non-restricted version. But on the side, maybe design a barrel shroud too if it's not impossible unless that's already in the work. Or contact sigmaco to figure it out as he's a total legend for the Type 81 aftermarket stuff he designed :p

Nice, back on FRT. Looks like only restricted due to barrel size, so NR should be easy enough, assuming 470mm+ barrel on a short recoil locked breech tilting barrel works well and reliably. I presume some of the delay may have been due to scrutiny of it Glock-y-ness :) Thank you for the hard work IRG!

They'll likely add that to the FRT when the NR is actually available to come to market. The phrasing for it being restricted refers to barrel length, so they can release a NR and it'll pretty much automatically be entered into the FRT as NR when IRG imports it.

Gotcha', it wouldn't make sense from a monetary point of view to not make an NR version, they would sell like hotcakes, probably moreso than the restricted ones
