Went on a peace river Whitetail hunt on the weekend.
Was hoping to take a buck and a doe, but had a Cow/calf moose mess up my
buck setup, so no buck [this time]

However, I shot a nice, fat doe with my rebarrelled 1910 Ross 303 British.
The shot was about 100 meters, and was a quartering away presentation.
I'm shooting the 180 Sierra Pro-Hunter at a MV of 2625 fps.

The bullet entered right at the edge of the diaphragm, and angled through the
heart-lung cavity, and exited the chest right at the front "elbow", just touching
the edge of the elbow joint. She jumped, kicking both legs as Whitetails do when
mortally wounded, and took a 75 yard dash, then piled up, stone dead.

The bullet hit no bone, in or out. The lungs were demolished, meat loss, minimal.

Pictures of deer & rifle added. Regards, Dave.

My first deer was taken with an M10 Ross almost exactly 50 years ago in October 1970.

Nice, OGC!! It is good to hear from those who take their Ross rifles afield and use them.
I consider it a breach of character to own one of these fine firearms, and then not use it.
Dave.
