Good luck to the lone three Canadians travelling to the west indies championships in Barbados this year.

Make sure to save some rum for other wary travelers

Day 3 and we have already had to resupply the rum. Still in tourist mode until our first practice on Sunday then the ####e gets real. Took a ride out to the range today and went down range to have a look at Gerald Bull's guns that were used on the HARP program.

Is it just you guys at the hotel or are any of the other teams there. Do they have a website to find the daily scores set up? Have you heard what type of ammo you will be running?

Ammo is HPS from what we have been told. Ran into some 3 shooters from Guyana tonight. Heard there are 61 competitors for this one. No signs of Jamaica, Tinni, Antigua yet but might run into them tomorrow.

Did you get that email too Jimmy? I was contemplating if i could make it to barbados in time. My barnard is even on the import permits.

I will have you know that there was some vodka involved too. Woody placed 3rd behind Goodluck and Braithwait. I was 10th and Bruce was 14th. Woody won a 500 yards match beating me on a countback and I won a 300 with a 49.7v. Some pictures are would not be CGN approved.

Shelly was 21st. We picked up a mixed bag team, 3 Canadians, 2 Jamaicans, 2 Trinidad shooters and your gal Monica. We placed last even with Bruce’s 50.8v at 500.

Have they announced where 2019 is going to be held at? My gal??? I have laid no such claim. I already have approval from work to attend next year. They are scheduling schooling in the winter.

Any issues in the heat with the hps????

The ammo was very good, no blown primers reported. Brass was nicely annealed GGG brand(never heard of it). Looks like next year will be Trinidad if they can get everything in place. Tony Wood from the BRA is the new Director of Rifle Competition for the West Indies Fullbore Conference. His job is to ensure that each host country range meets the standard to hold the competition. IE enough flags, the proper distance from the targets, the proper height, available marks (hopefully trained), enough targets to hold the competition, accommodation available, available match ammo etc.

If Trinidad can not make the grade for next year it will be move to Antigua. It will be in Jamaica in 2020 for sure.

This year the West Indies will bring a combined team of the Top 15 shooters that qualified in Barbados to the DCRA 150th this year in Ottawa. There will also be some individual shooters that didn't make the West Indies team coming up to Canada to shoot this year.
