What a M305/ m14 kitted up weight ?
Right up there in boat anchor realm.
13lbs eh? Why make work out of something that's supposed to be fun?
Yeah it's heavy but I know people going hunting with 26'' bull barrel and it weights about the same so I don't know what to tell you.
That was me last season. I lugged a big heavy barrel savage around. I really noticed it when I switched to the model 7 - about 7lbs with all the gear. The savage was around 12
Crazy how much you notice it after hiking the same routes and seeing how less tired I was after losing 5lbs - way less forearm pump lol
Nice 602 , I've had a few . One in particular I never should have sold . It was in 375 H&H and had the very cool pop up rear receiver sight . I can't tell if it's on your rifle............ not that it matters , it's a very nice rig .
It's a comforting carbine to have in your small tent when you're working in the high arctic.
Yeah, but is the 375 H&H enough gun for bears?
Have you considered a lever action? Henry long ranger has iron sight, is in 308 and has a barrel lenght of 20''. You can also get even smaller non-restricted lever. I have a 16'' 44 mag and it weights about the same than my CZ455 FS in 22lr.
With six 300 gr Failsafes in the big magazine, I hope so...…..

I would say so , if it doesn't , it's not of this world and you shouldn't have got into a fight with it lol .
I have a Marlin 1895 that I put Firesights on. With the LeverEvolution 325's, it outshoots almost all my other guns, scopes or not. I have yet to find a load that even approaches the Hornady stuff. I was thinking of a scope, but it shoots so damn well, and the Firesights are great in low light, so... The only thing I would change about the rifle is maybe put a big loop lever, but I find that they look effeminate, so I'll put up with the bruised knuckles.
