Buying a 30-06
Like ABB said, go to a range and try some out. Talk to the owners and ask them what they like about the gun, and make your own decisions.
First you have to take into consideration your size, height, weight, and reach.
Second what do you want to use it for, Moose, Deer, or Bear?
It doesn't matter if it's a Remington, Winchester, or Tikka. If it fits and doesn't kick the S**t out of you, then buy that one.
I wouldn't buy a really light gun, I find heavier guns help soak up the recoil. But the new recoil pads do make a difference.
If you really like a certain kind and it doesn't quite fit, talk to a gun smith about having it altered to fit you.
Just my two cents.
