What 30-6 rifle is the best for hunting

It depends how much you want to spend. I like the suggestion of synthetic/stainless for a hunting rifle. If I were looking for a mid level rifle I would probably look at a Tikka or a Browning x bolt.

I like the way you think. Thats what id do too if i was looking for a 30-06

I've actually picked up all 3 in 30'06 from Tradex lol.
The PH is a nice traditional 98 with a decent adjustable trigger. BSA isn't too far off SAKO quality of the same period, also a decent trigger. And the HVA is the next evolution of the 98 design with a sleek action and vault like lock up...just wish the triggers were better or there was an easy drop in aftermarket.

Depending on budget, your choices are many! But a Tikka T3x is superb for the money and out of the box quality/accuracy. If you’re budget minded, have a look at the Rem 783 or Win XPR packages. They are both better than you’d think and reviews are favourable.

My Model 700 BDL SS in 280 Remington is my go to rifle.
Manufactured in 1994 and every time a 270 Winchester or .30-06 comes up on the EE I am tempted.
Also have a 243 and 25-06 in the Stainless SPS versions and the same rifle in .30-06 would get my approval.

Lots of great suggestions. If I may contribute my current favorite 30/06 is a Sauer 101, deadnuts accurate with just about any off the shelf ammo, great trigger and light. It has shot quite a bit of game and paper The bullet has always found the target with exceptional precision, very happy with this gun.

I found a Stevens 200 on EE a few years ago, got in under $300 great gun. Must better quality then the axis made today.
