What 44 mag lever to buy??

Wolverine has a marlin 1894 sbl in stock in 44. These are sold out everywhere else. Within your price range. Grab it before someone else does

My marlin 44mag jm was jam-o-matic, i have had 4 marlins but only the 44 mag jm had the jam, also issues with front sight as the screw threads are not deep enough.

If i was to buy a new 44mag and had your budget, I would look at Henry

There is a screw on the right side of the receiver and if it backs out then the gun will jam .Buy a Marlin 44mag .

My wife loves her 96Ruger. Removable rotary magazine, light as a feather, and about as accurate as can be expected from a really short carbine. No longer made, they came with scope rings. She has a peep sight on hers.

That's what I got.. U got the Taylor and co mount from where... Mine is 16inch with the D Loop

Mine I ordered through a local dealer here in the UK.

If you are going to get a scout rail, I would recommend you get the rail that goes on the "Wildlands" if you can. It has a lot more slots which makes scope mounting easier.

Also, for mounting a scope, the rear peep gets in the way unless you want a "medium" ring and that little Leupold doesn't exactly have a huge objective so something to thing about.

I might just leave the skinner so I can keep it in my backpack

I get that. I want to hunt with my rifle so the magnification is welcome. I like red dot sights so something like a Burris Fastfire or Aimpoint in a Weaver QD mount would also be great for back packing. (In fact I'm contemplating a Browning SA-22 with a red dot for the same purpose)

Henry makes the nicest lever guns around these days. I have a Big Boy Carbine in .357 and it is ridiculously nice. Buttery smooth, fit and finish is exceptional. They have tons of options, and by FAR the best customer service of any company out there.
