What about a petition to make AR's non-restricted?

JTF# do you realize you avatar depicts a person holding a restricted weapon in a place other then an approved range or gunsmith? Your use of this image in your avatar states that you approve of the use of restricted weapons in non-restricted places.

actully the bren ten in miami vice was a blank pistol that fired .45 cal blanks. i think its a non-gun not restricted.

Well duh, all Hollywood guns fire blanks. It's not about that, it's the image it portrays.

One more thing, if we all shared your views and beliefs, we would have no firearms whatsoever. We can't just accept what the government tells us we can or can't do. If we let them prohibit or restrict anything without putting up a fight, they will feel that they can get away with anything they want.

i have a norinco CQ. i've bought sold and traded more guns then you have seen. since i was 15 i have been shooting and belong to a gunclub and the OFAH. point your finger at yourself.

i think some guns need to be restricted.thats just the way it is. your lucky they are not prohib like 95% of all military rifles. semi-auto or not.
just be happy with what we have dont go looking for a fight. if you are to scared to get your Rpal and register your restricted gun then maybe your dont deserve one.

Definite candidate for the dumbest post of the year thread.

While I support your idea, wouldn't it be better to allow restricted firearms to be used for hunting and shooting outside of a range (basically getting rid of the need for an ATT)? I'd sell my Swiss Arms and buy a high end AR in a heartbeat if I could hunt with one.

x lots

Would be much better than simply concentrating on the AR itself.

I'm wondering. If someone were a single, strong, letter to advance our position on the AR 15. And everyone mailed in a copy to their mp and to the house. Would it be considered a vote by public interest or would an mp just say "whatever, lazy gun owner won't write his own letter."

Reclassification is a simple process obstructed by mere ignorance and lack of knowledge.

We need a masive manifestation like in uk
But here what we need to do in canada
...
Every owner of restricted platform what so ever need to get an att for one day
We all need to bring our gun in cased and lock and all need to be there same time same place all over canada, it would be a legal show of our gun (case) and of how supid the law is
Regarding restricted firearm
The public need to understand once and for all that any firearm have the same potential of hurting or killing someone but the firesarm do not arm the handlers does...
What do you think

We are alowed to transport restricteds to RCMP stations right? We could meet in the parking lot of one in each major city throughout the country. How could you possibly organize that?

i guess this means u support Bill C-30 right?

i'm not saying our laws are correct. i'm just saying be happy that we have what we have. they are more likly to ban ARs then to give them less restriction.

every who knows guns knows there is really no diff between any gun in semi-auto in the same cal. its no diff to have a mini 14 or AR or HK33 or a browning bar. you can do allot more damage with a browning BAR in 300 mag then any .223. but do you really think our government is going to take the time to look over every gun in the world and change all our laws. not going to happen. look at the SPAS-12 is it better then a benelli m4? no but its still prohib and m4 is not?

just be happy with what we have. we beat the long gun registy. lets take a brake now.

Nope. This is just the beginning.

Yeah a bunch of guys with rifles showing up in the parking lot of an RCMP detachment wouldn't cause any sort of problem.

Aside from the obvious problem with that plan, have you thought how gun owners might be portrayed by the media should such an event occur? Christ it's a better plan than the wear your empty holster around town idea.

But what if we did do it, left the guns legaly trigger locked and cased, and nothing bad happened. I think that would have a big impact.

If AR's were reclassified as non-restricted wouldn't the barrel length need to be 18.5". Anyone running a short barrel PDW build would have to retire their upper for a rifle length if they wanted to be non-restricted. Tuff call :D

Non-restricted status may actually reduce firearms ownership - one lower, several uppers... only one functional firearm. But obviously a .22, 9mm, .223, .308 from an AR is twice as likely to drink straight from the carton than if fired from a non-restricted rifle.

i like the get rid of att i would get a restricted class license if i could use it outside of the range. as yet i am non restricted only but i am thinking i want the full meal deal now. i am jealous of all the beautiful handguns i have seen on here.
