What abouy a 9mm Para bolt action rifle?

Here's an idea. Thanks to Intersurplus, my favourite little House of Miracles:

We start here:

This rifle is in 7x33 Sako, a caliber I didn't know existed until just now. Wikipedia says this is "...based on a 9×19mm Parabellum case that has been lengthened and necked down to accept a 7.21mm bullet. The cartridge overall length is 44.30mm with a case length of 33.30mm and a base diameter of 10mm.". Looks like this:

Now that appears considerably lengthened - 19mm to 44mm is better than double the original length - but still a good starting point.

This rifle has a magazine system that is likely modifiable to work with a much stumpier cartridge.

The bolt face should be correct, or damned close to it. Find a way to shorten up the mag - an internal spacer perhaps - and throw a fresh stubby barrel on there (picture this with a 14" tube) and perhaps we're done, with the exception of plenty of money and bad language necessary to making the thing function as it should.

Its lengthened to 33mm, 44mm is overall length including the bullet. Interesting cartridge though! Never heard of/see it before.

Sounds expensive. lol

To cartridge length, if this rifle is a true CRF, a simple cartridge block in the magazine (along with shorter follower and spring) could be all you need. (fast way to check, if you had the rifle in hand, grab some 9mm dummies and see what it does!) I know I know, by that point you've already committed and bought the rifle (oh shame! haha)

Part of me is saying that cartridge is so interesting you should see if components exist and if they do just buy the rifle to shoot it as is! lol

Shooting lefty is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, I don't have much use for right-handed rifles so I have no desire to buy that particular rifle... On the other hand, I don't have much use for right-handed rifles yet I keep seeing #### I want to buy because its unique/cool/whatever.

Why not just rechamber a 30 caliber Barrel to 30 Luger?

Great idea, maybe to 7.62x25, for its abundance. Surplus Tok bullets are .306. I am actually waiting for the reamer for it, to do a little Enfield No4 in 7.62x25. Should be more fun than 9mm. Can load them with pointy 110gr .308 bullets and hotrod the hell out of them in the rifle action, using the 300blk/357mag group of powders

Because the goal is to be able to shoot 9mm from something that is neither a handgun nor a semi auto rifle. OP has "half a metric ton of loaded, ready-to-rock 9mm Para in the lockup."

I got bored very quickly shooting the plain 9mm through the bolt action. Feels same as 22LR, just way more expensive, haha. Silly 18.6" rule steals the fun from the 9mm cartridge.
Then I experimented with hot loading the 9mm, I filled them with 7gr of pistol powder, crunched bullet in, instead of normal 3gr. It felt good shooting in the bolt action - recoil is less than 357 but a good hitting power. If by mistake these loads make their way into the handgun, tragedy may happen. That is why I think Tokarev-based build is safer and more fun, even with factory loads. Tokarev's native bullets are 80gr. When you hotrod it with very common 110gr round-nose or spitzer bullets, they will not fit in the pistol mag, which is good for safety reasons. .30 group of pistol cartridges will see a rebirth, I am sure

Well considering there are little to no options in Canada for a 9x19mm bolt, it's really just a dream thread. Only ones available are making your own. I was into mine for under 350$.

Just for fun I’m going to turn my 870 into a single 9mm next weekend. Going to take the bird barrel off, put my 8” rifled chiappa 9mm chamber adaptor into my iron sighted 20” smooth bore barrel, take the extractor, plunger and spring out of the bolt and reinstall the iron sighted 20” smooth bore barrel on the frame. The chiappa adaptors are notched so you can pull the spent shell out with a finger nail. Going to do it cause I can and want to see how it patterns with iron sights as opposed to using the break action boom stick.

Post the pics and a report, super curious! Those Chiappa adaptors are long and good quality, so if there is no slop inside the barrel, accuracy should be very decent!

Nine35. ca sells rifled adapters 6, 11, 18"

Never used them in a pump, but I thought about it. I have a H&R with small firing pin. Just trying to figure sights.

The 12ga 18" 9mm did okay at 25yards.

Was kind of suggesting it to the fella's talking about 7 x 33.
But you are correct, we did get sidetracked.

Damn those cost more than the shotgun I'd want to stuff 'em into! lol

Then again, not many options other than semi autos. H&R don't build the Handi rifle anymore, same with Rossi rifle version. I haven't seen the CVA Scout here.

Armscor TCM 22 can be modded for 9mm but the base rifle you are looking at a grand. Then couple hundred for the 9mm barrel. Most mod AR 15 barrels. Well the only website I seen about this build.

Seeing how much the new 9mm lever is, I don't see a commerical 9mm bolt coming here for less than 1700.
